Have you ever had a dream that just seems too out there? Thought that would be nice but it probably won't happen. Well that is how I felt about my dream - I wanted to work from home. The dream started out not knowing what kind of job I could do from home that 1) was something I enjoyed and 2) not just a home based selling business (don't get me wrong those are great but just not for me). Now I can't remember exactly when that dream first came to be but then in high school I ...had an accounting class that I LOVED! And I thought okay I need to do something with this. Years came and went and I passed around the idea of going to school to be an accountant. But it never seemed right or what I wanted to do. It was during my first maternity leave that I came across a job posting for a Bookkeeping business, and it clicked. Yes that what I want to do! So I went back to work when my daughter was only 6 months old for my 'almost' dream job (if only I could do it from home). I learned so much from the company I worked for and gain so much experience working on a variety of businesses. Then came the decision to make a big life change and move provinces. This has many challenges and so many rewards. But from that move and having to give up my job - came the realization that "Hey, I can start my own bookkeeping business and work from home!" That was what started Bourne Bookkeeping Services in 2016. I didnt know what would happen or how I would start finding clients but I took those first steps. Picking a name and and letting people know, "Hey I'm doing this business, pass on my name please." I started and it's been so amazing and rewarding to have my dream of working for home actually come to be.
