So, did I tell you that I've been busy??? On the 15th, I joined a crew of 22 to help pick rocks at the Legion, to start to get ready for the new greenspace. I'm not sayin' that my presence brought out the rainbow, but I am a pretty colourful guy, and there was quite a bit of rain that day, soooooooo, - just sayin'! Wearing my "jaunty" cap again - and my red gloves - it was chilly (and I still don't have my coat ready - what's keeping that girl?) With the rain, some areas wer...e squishy and I didn't have my boots, so I was only allowed to sit on the wheelbarrow. But I could be there to support all the good folks who turned out to help - a BIG Yay to all of you!! Job well done! See more
Boy, have I been busy and haven't had a chance to share my experiences. Recently went to Fabricland in Courtenay with my chauffeur (you know her as "Jo" the President), but my feet can't reach the pedals, so she's the lucky one who gets to chauffeur me around (lucky me eh?). We needed some fabric to make me a coat, cause it seems that there's no stores on the Island that carry "dino" sizes. Now my PS (personal seamstress) needs to get going on that. I got to have my photo taken with some of the gals in the Fabricland store. Did you notice that I have me a hat now? If I do say so myself, I think it makes me look quite jaunty and it's really colourful, although you can't really tell that from the picture.
Blue was out today visiting Lighthouse Feed and Garden, checking out the great display of fall plants and trying to guess the weight of the giant pumpkin. Blue says he's not sure how much it weighs, but it would sure make a lot of pumpkin pies, one of his favourites! For a chance to win the pumpkin, drop in to the store and for $1 you can make a guess of how much it weighs. (And, if you're making any pies, just remember how much Blue loves pumpkin pie - he'd gladly come by to help with tasting! Anything he can do to help out, right?)
We are unable to have our annual community Halloween party this year but here is a few ways to have some Lighthouse country Halloween fun Please submit by Friday 30th Thank you and best wishes for a safe and fun Halloween
Sunday - another beautiful sunny day! A good chance to get out and put up some posters. Being a bit on the short side, I'm glad my assistant Jo has a few extra "height-i-ness" items in the back of the van to help me get this done. Although she did have to do the hammering for the stakes that blew over (ha, ha, that's the same as my name, only spelled differently!). The new posters are for the kids to submit the 3rd chapter of the Community Club's story - "the Adventures of the Motleys". You'll notice that I got mentioned in the newsletter as a new member of the crew, so lookin' forward to what kind of mischief, oh, I mean adventure I can be part of. It was a bit chilly again today, so really have to consider getting a coat and some boots - anybody know where I can shop for "small Dino" sizes?? See ya 'round!! Blue
Saturday - after helping the Club move some storage items, Blue stopped in at the Legion's Poppy Drive Thru and met Rick & Shannon Andersen, 2 of the many volunteers who were helping with the Legion's campaign. Blue heard of the many generous drive-thru's and says a big THANKS to all of them. Their donations will help to support the many veterans who served to protect us and others.
Does anyone know what this is? It’s 2 1/2 inches tall and has 4 legs on it. The legs are smooth on the inner side and pointed down the outer side. Name on the top is BigToys. The Community Club has a number of these in their supplies, but we’re not sure what they’re for.
Name this Dinasour Contest! We need a name for this travelling blue giant.... any kids out there (or kids at heart) have any suggestions? They are a pretty chill reptile :)

Nature Photography: Pacific sloped flycatcher. (Mom tried to photograph this little guy, but he was too quick for her!)
We discovered Miracle Beach on our way to find a spot to see the comet Neowise and this beautiful photo reminds me of that day and how beautiful it is on the Island.
