Effective tomorrow, Oct 28, all participants at Gateway Indoor will be required to wear a mask while bowling. We have taken this stance due to the increasing numbers of Covid cases. Last week we had 99% of participants wearing their mask while bowling so it won't be a great inconvenience at all.

Gateway Indoor LBC opened on Wednesday, Oct 14th with 18 people in attendance. We welcomed three new bowlers and a friendly jitney draw took place. Norwood membership was up to over 100 members in 2020 - the highest in memory! Attendance on our casual bowling days was very good, with greens in good shape and disease-free to this point in time. Thanks to our advisor, Greg Mitchell for his assistance. Our 8-person greens team has done a great job. Thanks a bunch to them. Also to the other volunteers that chip in on projects as needed. What a great volunteer club we have! The flowers and shrubs are beautiful once again, tha...nks to the flower ladies. You know who you are! We have improved our line-up of machinery and tools in order to do more work ourselves (thanks to a nice Community Grant which covered half of the cost of the upgrades). We are sharing a new lawn tractor and dump wagon with Bowls Manitoba. We had some vandalism recently. One of our benches was thrown over the fence and damaged. Fortunately that was the extent of the damage. Norwood members purchased 50 Bowls Manitoba jackets with our club name on them. Thanks to Donna Gobeil for doing such a great job of promoting the jackets and helping out. Also the other volunteers that helped with the club jacket demos. Extras were purchased in case someone missed ordering and for new members. Price is $30. If you didn't order and would like one please contact Donna. Many Norwood members competed in the only tournament of the season (Singles/Pairs Team event) and fared very well indeed with our members taking the top three prizes.
