Having asthma does not make a child more susceptible to catching COVID-19, but any respiratory virus can cause asthma to flare-up. It is important that asthma is properly controlled. Answer the Asthma Control Check questions to see if your child's asthma is considered under control. ... Did you know that only 1/3rd of the medication in an inhaler will reach the lungs without a spacer? This is why using a spacer is so important for asthma control. On the Thursday leading into the Labour Day weekend, Durham Region Emergency Responders were quite busy. Over a 36 hour period there was 11 overdoses. This is an alarming number. Our community is extremely important to us and this has encouraged us to increase awareness about naloxone kits. Whether you or someone you know takes opioids or street drugs please consider keeping a naloxone kit on hand. We also encourage people to keep a kit on hand if they may be in contact wi...th someone who uses opioids or street drugs. The Narcan (naloxone) nasal spray is easy to use and is free of charge. It could save a life.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Suicide is an intimidating topic. Did you know that approximately 11 Canadians die by suicide EACH day?
