Wondering what visiting 222 King will be like during the pandemic? Bowmanville Health Centre has active screening at one entrance to the building. This means th...at you will be interviewed by a nurse before you enter, and she will take your temperature. You will be asked if you have traveled lately or been near anyone who just returned, have a dry cough, sore throat, runny nose, trouble breathing, a fever, and other questions. If you are planning to visit Urgent Care, she will collect your information, and you will be advised to sit in your car to await a call from a doctor within a few minutes. If you are heading somewhere else, and you pass, you will be given an informative handout which is also your passport to the building. If you do not have this paper when you arrive, you will be turned away to get screened first. Receptionists will screen you again before providing service.

You know sugar rots your teeth. How? It feeds the bacteria in your mouth, which leave behind acid that wears away your tooth enamel. Sugary drinks, dried fruits, candy, and chocolate are common offenders. https://wb.md/2LU4g3Q

What is dental erosion? Dental erosion is the gradual loss of tooth enamel caused by acid attacks. Enamel is the hard, protective coating of the tooth. If it is worn away, the dentine underneath is exposed and your teeth can look discoloured and become sensitive. #Halloween dental tip! Whether your child eats one piece of candy or ten, it is essential to brush properly to prevent tooth decay. A brand new toothbrush is always a fun way to get your child excited about brushing. Be sure to drop one in your childs Halloween treat bucket, along with some floss, before they head out for the night.

#Halloween tip: After your children get back from trick-or-treating or a party, go through their bags of Halloween candy together. Tell them to each pick the 10 or so (whatever number you decide) treats they want the most. Get the unpicked treats out of sight. You can donate them to a food bank or freeze them if you cant bear to throw them out.
