Are you looking for ways to serve this winter? We're looking for donations of crocheted lap blankets (3' x 4' Min.), sewn baby blankets, crocheted/knitted preemie/baby hats, mitts, and hats for children and adults. If you don't sew, knit or crochet you can purchase hats, mitts/gloves or socks. We donate these items to the local hospitals, food banks and pregnancy helps centre. There is always someone who is in need of items that warm the body and the heart.

World Religion Day has been held internationally since 1950. This is the 15th year that an event has been organized in the Durham Region for World Religion Day. This year, due to gathering restrictions, the Durham Multifaith Community have planned this as a virtual event which will be on January 17th at 2pm. It will be a pre-recorded, approximately 25 minute program with faith leaders from various religions sharing remarks or a prayer surrounding this year's theme which is... Keeping Hope Alive: Prayer and Reflection for Healing. The program can be accessed through the Zoom platform with the Meeting ID 897 0970 7404 Passcode: Unity. After the program, viewers have the option to be assigned to breakout rooms where small group discussions will take place about the following questions: 1. What recent actions/events have brought hope and healing? 2. How do your spiritual beliefs help you navigate difficult times or challenges in your life? 3. Hi--I hope to receive more contributions for the upcoming food drive on November 28. We didn't do our annual food drive in September so this is a great chance for all of us to help with the needs of our community members. You can participate in the food drive on November 28 between 1 and 4 pm by loading items in your trunk and bringing them to St. Joseph's at 127 Liberty Street South, or if you drop the items at my house I will be happy to take them in. This is the list of it...ems they need most especially right now: Side Kicks Boxed Crackers Saltine Crackers Large Juice Juice Boxes Kidney and Brown Beans Dish soap Laundry Pods Toilet Paper Also I just spoke to Heila at Bethesda House and they are in desperate need of bath towels.
