Smoothie Sunday When we moved into this house almost a year ago I was like o f*ck me, we are gonna break some straws on this hard granite counter for sure..but nope! There have been many drops and a few crashes (esp since my 11 yr old son unloads the dishwasher around here ) but not one has been broken here yet. Glass Straws are way more durable than you'd expect, and they aren't made from the kind of glass you see in most cheap drinkware (that's called soda lime glass...) Borosilicate Glass is much stronger and is break/shatter resistant, plus it can withstand the thermal shock of higher temps making them dishwasher safe (but they are way faster to clean just with the cute little brushes) I also kiln anneal them to make them even more durable (apparently not everyone does that step! ) I made a break test video ages back on my page, I should probably make a new one. They aren't break proof, but they are pretty damn durable ps i love @blenderbites www.BowValleyStraws.ca
