Athabasca County Fire Services has been dealing with a large wildland fire for the past week. As of today the wildland fire has been declared as a loss stop! At...habasca County Fire Services would like to put out a massive thank you to the following fire departments, agencies and municipalities for helping out on this wildland fire: - Colinton FD - Boyle FD - Rochester FD - Grassland FD - Wandering River FD - Athabasca County Public Works - Alberta Forestry (SRD) - Thorhild County Fire Services - New Pine Creek Colony - Trident Pumps - Boven Water Hauling - Rosey Water Hauling - Tri-Gen Water Hauling - Diggen Bury Trenching - Scooby Contracting In total +/- 200,000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire. Over 100+ man hours were put into fighting this fire. Without the support of the above fire departments, agencies and municipalities this fire would still be burning. THANK YOU ALL!! #acfs

As the ACFS first responders continue to protect our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important we help keep them safe. Maintaining six feet or t...wo metres between you, police, firefighters, or EMS and wearing a face mask will help flatten the curve and keep our first responders safe. If you have been sick, in contact with somebody who is sick, have traveled, or are self-isolating, let our dispatchers know when you call 9-1-1. We also ask that you tell the first responders when they arrive on scene. Social distancing is imperative to help prevent the spread and keep our police, fire, and ambulance personnel healthy so they can continue to go the distance for us! #acfs #rcmp #ems
