This week cohorts went head to head in a tower building competition! Each group had one hour to decorate and fold as many blocks as possible and then two minutes to construct the tallest tower. There was healthy competition between rooms, but the main floor won in a photo finish!

Members of our OSP showed off their creative thinking and STEM skills during Lego program! They built their own design for a water filtration system and afterwards were able to explain how they worked! The following week, they designed a wheel-less, environmentally friendly mode of transportation. One child designed a vehicle that sucks bacteria out of the air and water, burns the bacteria turning it into fuel for the vehicle, and the exhaust is clean air. Ingenious!
A big congrats to Dongdao from Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area on being one of our #KidFoodNation winners! He’s just a little more famous thanks to this CBC Edmonton interview!

The Boys and Girls Club of Fort Saskatchewan has been doing its part to reduce barriers and create opportunities for all young people in the community for over 30 years. We have seen firsthand the effects of systemic problems and we know that the solution is investing in young people, in communities, and in platforms that give young people a voice.
So thankful to be part of the Family Resource Network with such great organizations as Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society and Creating Hope Society!
It's a No-School Day and members spent their mornings making creations using Co-op Hey Clay donated by North Central Co-op! We had a blast using our creativity to make all sorts of cute and colorful characters! #bgcfs #CoopKidsClub #HeyClayCoop
Member of the Week was created to acknowledge the kindness, respectfulness, and other Boys and Girls Club values shown by our members in the Out-of-School program. Last week's winner, rather than spending her time outside playing, chose to be there for and comfort a friend in her time of need. Way to go! #bgcfs
Thank you so much North Central Co-op!
This year, Boys & Girls Clubs across the country hired over 700 youth, thanks to the #CanadaSummerJobs program! Our Club was thrilled to have 10 extra summer positions help support, empower, and inspire our members. #LeadersToday @BGCCAN
On September 30th, we wear orange shirts to commemorate and acknowledge the residential school experience and the trauma that has been inflicted upon indigenous communities. Today, our OSP members took the time to learn about the history of residential schools and create orange shirts with messages of their own. #orangeshirtday #fsbgc
September 30 is #OrangeShirtDay, which commemorates the thousands of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children who were removed from their homes and forced to at...tend residential schools. Visit our Truth & Reconciliation page to find resources to help you participate (https://www.bgccan.com/en/truth-reconciliation/), wear an orange shirt on Wednesday, and tag us in your posts to show solidarity. Pictured are staff and kids from Boys and Girls Club of Fort Saskatchewan participating in an Orange Shirt Day event last year.
Thank you to Keyera Corp. for the donation of hockey nets and equipment to our Club! Our members could barely wait for everything to be unloaded before they started showing off their best McDavid moves! #fsbgc
