What have they been doing since December? They haven't been making the decisions they needed to make to inform public health units, these things aren't easy, said Liberal MPP John Fraser.
Our seniors deserve respect and dignity. We must ensure nursing homes are safe and that we provide sufficient home-care supports. #TakeTheMic and share your ideas on how to improve life for Ontario's seniors. Join the conversation at https://takethemic.ontarioliberal.ca.
Burlington sends love and a loud Happy Birthday to the incomparable Hazel McCallion as she turns 100 years young.
1 in 3 women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their life time. Domestic violence helplines have shown an increase in calls since the beginn...ing of Covid-19. 71% of all human trafficking survivors worldwide are women and girls. 3 out of 4 of these women and girls are sexually exploited. Why do we have an International Day to End Violence Against women, because now more than ever we need to stand up and speak out against these injustices. Today marks the first day of the #16Days of Activism. Today we demonstrate our solidarity and encourage everyone to do the same. #GenerationEquality #OrangetheWorld #UNWomen
Ensuring our green spaces and places is a necessity for a healthy community. Hard urban boundaries will ensure viable and thriving ecosystems and agricultural land, and build a community that is balanced and prepared for the ever-changing effects of climate change. Congratulations to Karen Roche, our new Fire Chief in Burlington!
Yesterday, Doug Ford's Conservatives voted against a motion to condemn the hate his friend Charles McVety stands for. Even though the motion passed, Doug Ford is still rewarding McVety - a homophobic, Islamophobic, bigot - with degree granting powers.
Remember when we used phones like this? Me neither, but I did see one in a movie once. We used much newer (and smaller) phones to connect with Burlingtonians today on our Day of Action. Enjoyed some great conversations!
