One last project before Christmas!! Happy to partner with the Rotaract Club of Muskoka to safely deliver Christmas dinners to people who may not have a had one otherwise! Merry Christmas everyone!!
From each one of our Members to you and yours, we want to wish you the happiest of holidays!! Stay safe everyone!!
The Rotary Cares program is one of our programs where we have helped over 150 families caring for over 425 children through one-time contributions for essential household expenses like rent, utility bills and groceries. One of the most impactful parts of this program is the purchasing of specifically asked for Christmas gifts from the Rotary Cares children who we helped this year. We want to make sure that the children have a great Christmas despite the financial challenges... their family is facing. You can see the wrapped gifts being delivered by one of your Rotarians and his wife! We hope these gifts bring some smiles to little faces tomorrow morning!! Happy Holidays everyone!!
We are always happy to support such a great program lead by the YWCA Muskoka!

Rotary Club of Bracebridge helping out today. Rotarian Oliver Reprich and Rotarian Richard Borland stop by Manna Food Bank and drop off a cheque for $5,000.00. The Manna Food Bank has had added pressure, because of COVID - 19, and Rotary Club of Bracebridge hopes this will help out residents in Bracebridge, in this critical time.
Today was the Celebration of Life for Willam (Bill) Edward Towns. It was a beautiful ceremony where we gave thanks and said goodbye to an exemplary man. A personal quote from Bill was put on the program. It rang so true and confirmed one of the reasons why we do the work we do in Rotary. Bill's philosophy on volunteer work in the community...... " If a person is going to accept the benefits of a community, then it is up to that person to offer himself in some capacity, without being paid, to make the place a little better before he leaves, than when he arrived" ...You did Bill, and we will continue the work in your honour.
Great night testing our trivia skills with the Rotaract Club of Muskoka last night! So much fun!!
We are thrilled that Rotary International will have its first woman President in 2022-2023! The icing on the cake is that she is Canadian! Congratulations Jennifer Jones!
We are thrilled that our exchange student Jane is back home on Canadian soil isolating! The Club had the privilege to speak to Jane a couple weeks ago at our club meeting. She shard some of her MANY adventures she has had in Switzerland! We are very proud of her for completing her exchange and deciding to stay and finish/extend her time there during Covid-19.... Would your kids or grandkids enjoy a goodnight story read to them by Dolly herself? There is a virtual library that you can access online! https://imaginationlibrary.com/goodnight-with-dolly/
Do you know about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library? It is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family’s income. We were lucky to have Jeanne and Rebecca speak to us last Friday about the initiative! Rebecca is heading up the Muskoka area and is looking for people who may want to donate to help send books to local kids! Here is more information: https://imaginationlibrary.com/ ... If you would like to donate you can here: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/46346
We are so proud of our Rotary Cares Committee who was able to move quickly to help families in need! On March 21, 2020, the Rotary Cares Committee launched a special assistance program to support working families in the community who were immediately impacted by the closing of their workplaces. The program was designed to bridge needs of working families between vanishing pay cheques and receipt of emergency assistance from the government. Between March 25 and April 8th, Rot...ary Cares gifted 50 families in the community with grocery cards to help them out during this hard time. In addition to the $25,000 Rotary Cares Covid-19 Assistance Fund Program, the Rotary Club of Bracebridge has made additional contributions to the community in this time of unprecedented need including a $5,000 donation to the Manna Food Bank and, thus far, a $2,000 donation to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation for snacks for the frontline workers at the South Muskoka Memorial hospital on behalf of our late member, Bill Towns. #rotaryresponds
