BTC Update: The nets are up at the Kelvin Grove courts, but the courts are still closed and padlocked. We are hoping that we'll hear from the Town soon as to when we can begin our season. Stay tuned! We’re all anxious to get out on the courts! This is uncharted territory for all of us, including the Town. It's very important that we have processes that keep all of us safe while we play. Thanks for your patience and understanding!
In an effort to compensate for its delayed opening due to Covid19, the BTC (Bracebridge Tennis Club) is considering extending its 2020 season into the winter months. Please note that Opening Day has yet to be determined.
The Town of Bracebridge has closed all public offices indefinitely due to COVID-19, including the Sportsplex and Arena. Since we don't know how long current social distancing recommendations will be in place and Town services will be limited, the 2020 tennis season is on hold until further notice. This means we’re not able to confirm a start date for the season but we are hopeful that we’ll be able to have at least a partial season. We will keep the schedule the same as last year. Once we know when the courts will be available we’ll update this page with registration details and a copy of the application. MANY THANKS to everyone in our community who are working so hard to keep us safe and informed; and to the Town of Bracebridge for their partnership.
If you’re in Muskoka, please attend to share our need for indoor tennis in Muskoka!! The rain held off on Saturday and we had some very good tennis! A special thanks to Shig Nakamoto and Donna Janssen for organizing the Mixed Doubles Mixer, and Paula and Kris King for generously providing some of the prizes. Thank you for coming out to the Bracebridge Tennis Club's first Mixer for 2019!

REMINDER TO ALL MEMBERS: Absolute Landscaping will be installing drainage at the tennis courts at Kelvin Grove Park between June 17th and June 28th. The Town has assured us that this will not interfere with play at all, but it will affect parking as they will have equipment in the parking area. This means we are not to park at the courts during this time period. We can park down below by the rowing club.
AED SaveStation media event - This Monday, June 17th, at 10:30 a.m. the new AED SaveStation at Kelvin Grove Park will be unveiled at Kelvin Grove Park. BTC's president, Robin Hiltz will be speaking at this event. The purchase and installation of the SaveStation is as a result of a generous donation and sponsorship by Moose FM CFBG 99.5 - Muskoka in partnership with the Town of Bracebridge, Muskoka and Action First Aid. The placement of this year round defibrillator at Kelvi...n Grove Park is the first outdoor SaveStation to be placed in Muskoka. The unit is located in a free-standing structure that houses an AED in an outdoor cabinet. The SaveStation provides real-time feedback on the AED device, a climate-controlled cabinet, backlighting for full visibility, as well as alarm and photo control upon cabinet opening. The AED is available to anyone, at any time, to be used in a cardiac arrest emergency.
A reminder to please join us at the Kelvin Grove Courts during Show Up ‘n Play tomorrow (Saturday, June 8th) to recognize Sidney Rosenblatt, thank him for his contribution to BTC and the Town and wish him well on his new adventure! If you’re not planning on playing tennis that morning, the players will take a break at 10:30 am to recognize Sid. (photo by Mary Beth Harthill)
