Calgary needs leadership, now more than ever. As the City of Calgary inches closer to the 2021 municipal election, today Calgary business leader and entrepreneur Brad Field announces his intention to run for Mayor. Calgary was built by dreamers, doers and risk-takers, says Field. This city doesn’t know the word can’t. Through all of the hardships the city has endured, I’ve held strong to the vision of what Calgary represents and what it CAN be. That’s the spirit I want t...o bring back to City Hall. With 11 months until ballots are cast, Field plans to share his vision of leadership: creating an environment for jobs and business to flourish again and delivering good city services to Calgarians at a reasonable cost. A self-described serial entrepreneur, Field is the president of BRC Group, a North American industry leader specializing in commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment. Over the last 25 years, Brad has created hundreds of jobs and built businesses in a wide variety of industries including healthcare, fire suppression, heavy equipment, and real estate. In the past few years, the city has tried to drive a wedge between business and people. The reality is, there is no business without the people, we’re one and the same, says Field. Calgarians need the comfort of being able to plan for the future, I will deliver that. Field will spend the coming months meeting with Calgarians, in safe and healthy ways, talking about their shared vision to move Calgary into the future. Media inquiries: [email protected]

Too often we underestimate the power of a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Today is #worldkindnessday and a great opportunity to spread kindness.

This year, we must find new ways to honour those who serve and have served. We have got to keep the conversation about mental health going.
