Acoustic Isolation Booth Construction Day 8: I took a break from posting updates on this project but it’s nearly finished so I will finish posting on it soon. This day was focused on sealing the ceiling, framing the ceiling and insulating the ceiling. On top I have a 1/2 inch piece of MDF, followed by the polystyrene foam (to decouple) and green glue sealant in the cracks. The ceiling frame is just 2x4s and the insulation is more rock wool. #acousticisolation #isolationbooth #isobooth #construction #musicstudio #homemusicstudio #vocalbooth #voxbox #framing #structure #bradleymusicandsound

Acoustic Isolation Booth Construction Day 7: Worked on moving the booth into place (with help from my bro and Pa), sealing cracks and bracing the whole structure against a wall of our house to fix the problem with the door hang. With the 2x4 brace, I made sure to place felt between the wood and the walls as to reduce the sound transferred into the booth. Ideally, the door wouldn’t be so heavy as to pull on the structure and create a gap at the top of the door in the first place, but this fix worked well so that door swings and closes perfectly. Also, the doors weight/density does help with sound reduction so I’m happy with this choice in the end.

Acoustic Isolation Booth Construction Day 6: Drywall - it surprised me that dry walling could be a one man job but it certainly can if you use some creative solutions. #drywall #drywalling #isobooth #isolationbooth #recordingstudio #recording #musicstudio #homereno #homerenovation #soundproofing (#soundreduction is more accurate) #door

Acoustic Isolation Booth Construction Day 5: Rock Wool Insulation - It’s not as bad for your lungs as fiber glass but it sure isn’t good for them either! (So wearing facial protection during installation is always smart)
