Last but not least, we have decided to give BrainReach's Special Recognition to our amazing materials management team! Hilary Sweatman, Shaima Alsuwaidi, Sofía Skromne Carrasco and Victoria Jones have gone above and beyond our expectations. Let's find out what motivates them to volunteer with BrainReach! Victoria: "I love the fun, interactive element the organisation brings to classrooms. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by creative neuroscientists who are so passionate abou...t delivering education in such an approachable way for the kids of Québec. Occasionally receiving messages of gratitude from teachers, parents or other volunteers for the work of brainreach really brightens my day and makes me proud to volunteer with you all!" Shaima: "I love volunteering with BrainReach because it gives me the opportunity to be part of a community and contribute to Neuroscience education. It's always motivating to share your time and knowledge with the community, and I'm glad that I get to do that through BrainReach Elementary!" Hilary: "I volunteer with BrainReach because I love to see my work as a neuroscientist inspiring the next generation. The children have so much to offer and they remind me why I love science!" Sofía: "I volunteer with BrainReach because I think there are a lot of misconceptions around mental health and how brains work in general. It's important to me not only to teach kids the basics of how all of our brains work, but to encourage them to be curious, seek to understand more, and to know that there IS this information out there and that they CAN understand it."
