The following is the text from our resolution on basic income sent to the 2021 federal NDP convention: Whereas the world economic product has more than tripled since 1990, securing adequate and decent employment for all job seekers remains one of the biggest problems policy-makers face. Whereas former President Barack Obama stated in July, 2018 with the increase in new technology, job outsourcing and an increase in artificial intelligence, there will be less meaningful jobs,... and he also endorsed the idea of Universal Basic Income. Whereas in January, 2021, Sir Richard Branson states Universal Basic Income is coming to our economies, it is only a matter of when. Whereas employment that contributes to protecting the environment and reducing humanities heavy environmental footprint offers people a tangible stake in a green economy. Be It Resolved that the NDP will make Universal Basic Income a policy in the next general election so that no one will be left behind. And Be It Further Resolved that an NDP Government shall implement Universal Basic Income upon being elected as the Government of Canada.

Well said.. this could have been prevented

Brampton only has 0.96 beds per thousand residents. The Provincial average is 2.19 beds. This was long a problem before COVID and our lack of health funding fr...om the province remains a critical issue.
