Around 1870’s to the turn of the century, prominent Canadian philosophers were meeting with prominent American philosophers and their developments, yet did not follow their intellectual fashion trends. American philosophy was heavily influenced by Pierce, and John Dewey, both stemming from Idealism (Kant) tending towards a wide variety of offshoots. Then what direction did Canadian philosophy deviate? What direction? Just before the second world war, Canadian philosophers t...urned instead to reviewing philosophy and its history rather than adopting pragmatism as a position. The great influence of the period between the great wars was George Sidney Brett (18791944). George Sidney Brett was a realist. Brett’s great influence, to his credit, was Aristotle. However, from what I see, Brett was as mixed conceptually as Aristotle was in his cosmology. Aristotle was a giant in his epistemology, but his views of the physical universe, whew! Brett’s positive influence helps explain when I was in elementary school, I still remember the amazing Greek stories told by my early teachers. Thank you Sidney George Brett!

This pandemic, as I've said over and over is largely an exercise in political power. It is not dangerous at all to 99.7% of Ontario's population. There really, never was a valid reason to lock down. Any sickness is dangerous to the elderly. Walking down stairs by themselves is dangerous to our senior member of the family. I feel such a sense of pity, real pity for the vast majority of people who are led to believe the Ontario government by media.
