Brampton Wingfest

July 30, 2015 Dear Participants, Vendors, Sponsors & Entertainers, On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I wish to inform you that Brampton Wingfest scheduled for Friday September 4th and Saturday September 5th will be cancelled.... This decision was not taken lightly given that the event has grown since its 1st annual event in 2011 and has come to attract more than twenty four thousand festival seekers, however a number of factors have contributed to this year’s unfortunate decision to cancel. Most notably is the financial model upon which the Wingfest has been structured. I would like to take the opportunity to say a special thank you to the Chinguacousy Lions for hosting the event since 2011, with their help and assistance we raised community awareness about the need for a new downtown hospital and contributed thousands of dollars to meet that need. A special thank you to the City of Brampton council and its staff for all their work and advice over the past five years which contributed greatly to our success and particularly to all of the restaurants and vendors who helped transform a park setting into a wonderful sea of colour, sights and sounds matched by the overwhelming aroma from our food vendors. It is our intent to begin restructuring today and to make some exciting changes to the event. One such change is to move the event from the Chinguacoucy Park and to hold it in downtown Brampton. This move will give us greater access to people, parking and other supporting services that other highly successful downtown events have access too. I know many of you brought your friends and family to past events and were big supporters of Brampton Wingfest and our goal to helping the community and we truly hope that you will continue to support us in 2016 as we undergo this transitional phase.
