While having been forced to keep the branch closed for long periods, we have been able to weather the storm both financially and socially during this time. Greeting comrades and friends. Due to the rising number of covid19 cases in the province and particularly on the island, we have decided to cancel all functions at Branch 10 Legion for the foreseeable future. We will be closed until the new year, but will react to any further information or direction as it comes forward from Legion Command or the Health Authority. We must ensure that we do all we can to keep our members and guests safe during this pandemic. Our patrons have ...taken the first step by staying home and limiting their socializing and as a result, we saw very few in the lounge on the two days we were open. Our volunteers continue to work on behalf of the Legion, with construction, membership, and service work ongoing. We would like to invite anyone who is interested in the future of this branch, to call me (Gary personally at home (250)390-4848) or leave a message at the branch (250)753-4442) and we can discuss participation and volunteer opportunities. In the meantime, if anyone knows of a Veteran or a dependant needing help or assistance, please call our service officer Kay at Home 250 741-8308 for a confidential consultation. Good Afternoon Comrades and Guests Due to Covid -19 numbers up, there will be no Meat draw until further notice. Meat Draws and Legion Sports have been suspended until Dec.7,20 and will be re-evaluated at that time . The Legion will be open the regular hours until further notice . Good Day Comrades and Friends of the Legion: As we all know this year is a different year for Remembrance Day. Due to Covid -19 the rising number of cases in BC. It is recommended by the Provincial Health Officer and BC /Yukon Command that all Legions be closed on Nov.11,2020. We need to keep our Veterans, members and families safe. Br.10 will be CLOSED on Remembrance Day Please Stay home and be safe, we can all do our minutes silence and watch the Ceremony on TV. LEST WE FOR...GET We are taking membership Dues Tuesday Friday 9:30-noon or at the Bar when the Legion is open. Friday’s 2:30-7:30 PM Sat.1-6 PM You have til Nov .30th to get in on the early Bird draw, two members will get their dues paid for 2022. Saturday’s meat draw 3 PM for the first draw When entering the Legion and walking around the indoor premises Please wear your mask this is to protect yourself and our Veterans, members and Guest, Take it off at your table. Hello Comrades, Friends & Family, Due to COVID-19, the general public are being discouraged from attending the Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11th, 2020 but we are are happy to announce that Shaw Spotlight will be televising the ceremony live on Shaw TV channel 4 or channel 105 on Bluecurve commencing at 10:30 AM on November 11th, 2020. Please get the word out to our veterans and general public that do not have access to social media so we can celebrate together safely. Thanks to the staff at Shaw TV Nanaimo for working with the City of Nanaimo Local Government and the executive at the Royal Canadian Legion branches in Nanaimo to make this available to the public
