Due to Covid-19 gathering restrictions, attendance at the Remembrance Day service in Yellowknife will be by invitation only this year. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 invites the public to attend the service ONLINE on Nov. 11 beginning at 10:45 am. The service will be live-streamed on the JTFN and Cabin Radio FaceBook pages. Our Canadian Armed Forces have a long history of going where they are needed in order to protect our nation, and this year we honour them, and their service, by remembering from home in order to protect them.

One week from today will mark the end of the 2021 Early Bird campaign. If you'd like to save $5 on your 2021 membership renewal, this is the time to do it. If you pay by 30 November, your name will also go into a draw. If your name is selected, your 2021 membership will be paid for. For those renewing after next Monday, memberships will be $60 instead of $55.

Happy 75th Birthday to the Yellowknife Legion! It was on this day in 1945, shortly after the end of World War II, that Veterans of Yellowknife established the branch in Old Town. In ordinary times, there would have been a series of events throughout the year leading up to today. This year, due to COVID-19, the 75th anniversary of the branch will be celebrated on November 21st, 2021.
