What do you do when the bowl is too small for your vacuum chuck? I took a scrap piece of Baltic Birch plywood, cut it a little larger than the Vacuum cup, cut a thin piece of foam the same size. Drilled an 8mm hole that is what was in the drill press. Cut a hole in the foam to line up with the hole in the piece of wood. Held the piece between the small bowl and the vacuum cup, and presto. Held the bowl solidly so I could take off the tenon, then sign and finish the piece. It was a quick fix that worked like a charm. Happy Turning.

Introducing the just released new upgraded VL150 V2. This just arrived, set it up yesterday and gave it a good run. It ran smooth and quiet, the 1 hp motor handled the out of balance piece of Silver Walnut exceptionally well. The lathe sat solid on the floor and was a pleasure to run. I did the complete turn with a Carter and Son Toolworks 5/8" bowl gouge and ended up with a nice small bowl as a result. If you would like to know more about the VL 150 V2 lathe or any of the other Vicmarc Lathes, send me a message. Thanks Ken

Making one smooth continous cut from the bottom of the bowl around to the bowl rim without repositioning the tool rest. I have limited inventory to fit the Vicmarc VL240 & VL300. In addition we have the 1 inch tool post. These tool rest posts are 5" in length to fit a variety of lathes.

Have you seen the New Vicmarc curved tool rest? Would you like to make one cut from the bottom all the way to the rim without stopping to reposition the tool rest? I have limited inventory to fit the Vicmarc VL240 and the VL300 lathes. In addition we also have the 1 inch tool post. These tool rest posts are 5 inches in length to fit a variety of lathes.
