4 Steps To Creating Powerful + Soulful Website Copy If you aren’t feeling 100% confident and aligned about how your website is showing up, imagine the message that’s being put out to the universe. Is that the energy around your brand that you want to create? Even if you mostly get your clients via word of mouth, they’re going to check out your website and it’s going to play into the decision they make to work with you or not. ... So if you’re not feeling a Heck Ya about your website copy, you’re ideal clients aren’t either. Bye, bye . Here are some quick tips to help on your journey to that heck ya: Let it ooze with personality. Pick one one person across the screen you want to speak to and then mirror their personality through short sound bites, sayings that they use, slang and most importantly revealing what’s in their heart. Make it all about them (not you). Stop telling us who you are. Instead show your customer what an expert you are by mirroring to your customer what keeps them up at night and what their goals are around what you sell. Sales is about creating rapport, so use your copy to do the selling for you. Get specific. There are two simple ways to get specific: 1) what you do 2) who you do it for. Being specific in your messaging, will help you gain momentum to eventually appeal to the masses. Specific is travel pants not athletic wear. It’s a hormone diet for women versus a fat loss program. Entice them to take action. Every page should have an action that they can take to receive more value from you and take the relationship further. At this stage in the relationship, those next steps should quick yet impactful. When I read this business tagline I immediately smirked. God forbid that Victoria Secret would invite a plus-size woman to model their lingerie! Is Victoria Secret out of touch with reality? Are slim women wearing size 0 underwear their idea of a every body? If they offer size D cup bras with size XL thongs, I wouldn’t know about it from this picture!
