Greg Huxley -parent For over seventy years the Brantford Minor Baseball Association has not only fostered a love for baseball in our town, but it has also built a community. For decades we have tirelessly worked to teach more than throwing mechanics and batting fundamentals, we’ve worked to build up the next generation, on and off of the field. Something we’ve never done, however, is dedicate ourselves to creating an opportunity specifically for girls to learn and grow and love our game too. In many senses we have failed in this respect. Certainly our doors have always been open for girls to join our teams, but in not creating a program specifically for female baseball players, we have continued to be an organization of predominantly male baseball players, coaches, and umpires. We have the opportunity now to correct that, we have the opportunity to encourage girls to play the game we hold so dear who otherwise may not have even considered trying. We hope that we will be able significantly grow our community through this endeavor, and in doing so better serve our families, our players, and Brantford as a whole. With this grant provided by Jump Start we will be able to open the doors to a generation of baseball players that we simply have not adequately served. We will be able to share our love of the game, and create an environment where girls from all over Southern Ontario can come to learn, grow and compete. This is just the beginning of something truly great for baseball in Brantford, for our organization, and for our city. Thanks Randy Meggs BMBA President

Wiffle Ball - Open to all BMBA Players In an effort to grow the game and offer our members more options, alternatives and new baseball experiences, Brantford Minor Baseball Association is Proud to Launch a Trial Run for a Wiffle Ball League.... We have had may inquiries about Wiffle Ball over the years, now we are constructing a plan to see if this is viable option to offer our members, to enhance their baseball skills and experiences. We have some time in the indoor complex set aside to run a Trial. The Trial will allow us to see many things, once after the Trial is done and evaluated, we believe we could offer a suitable wiffle ball option for late January. What we are looking for is 24 players ages 10 - 15 for the Trial. $10 dollars a piece you are guaranteed 3 games of wiffle ball. We will construct 4 Teams for the Trial, they will be random teams for this purpose. Two teams will play the first night. The other two teams will play the second night, the winners of each night will return for a Final Game the following Week. Monday Dec 14 Team 1 vs Team 2 Wednesday Dec 16 Team 3 vs Team 4 Monday Dec 21 Final The time Slot we have set aside for this is right after school 4PM to 5:45, please keep this time in mind when signing up. We do have a set of rules we have developed that will go out to the group before competition. Wiffle Ball combines so many of the baseball skills we teach the kids, this is a great game under supervision, to continue the growth of skills and knowledge within the baseball structure. We will continue to look for alternatives that suit our members, that will allow them to grow and will allow us to grow this great game. This will be run with ALL Safety Protocol in mind!
