A huge thank you to Kw'umut Lelum and Bill Yoachim for allowing me to run a camp on the land of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. It was great to have athletes in the gym having fun and trying basketball. A big thank you as well to Jacob Thom of Gixaatla Nation for coaching camp with me!

Hello All, As we approach year 6 of Brar Basketball running. I'm wanting to send a thank you to all the friends and families for their tremendous support! It's been amazing to see elementary athletes go on to excel at the high school level. Additionally, to see high school athletes go on to excel at the post secondary level.... ATHLETE TESTIMONIAL "Over the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to train with Avneet. When I first transferred to VIU I came from a two year college where I averaged below 6 points a game and shot below 20% from the three point line. I had lost my spark for the game and wasn’t as passionate as I once was. I started training with Av the summer before my first season at VIU and its been the best thing that happened to my game. After consistently training with Av, I saw s...ignificant improvements in my scoring capabilities, my 3-point percentage averaged out above 35 percent (34% year 1 at VIU and 36.8 year 2 at VIU) and I doubled my points per game average. I ended up finishing as a 2x First Team PacWest Allstar, 2x All-Canadian and Tournament MVP. Not only did Avneet design and develop specific skill sessions tailored just for my skill set but he also sat down with me at least once a week to discuss and look over film from the past weeks games. BASKETBALL...IS...BACK! We've had a bit of a break...so it's only right that it's time to BUILD! The BUILD training centre will be ran on Sundays at Oliver Woods Community Centre in Nanaimo on 2 Sunday slots. Athletes may sign up for ONE of the two slots. ... 8 Sunday Sessions will run for 90 minutes at a cost of $200.00 *Limited Spaces* MORNING SESSION: 10:00AM-11:30AM AFTERNOON SESSION: 2:15PM-3:45PM FOR BOYS AND GIRLS GRADES 8-12 CALENDAR: OCTOBER 25 NOVEMBER 1 NOVEMBER 8 NOVEMBER 15 NOVEMBER 22 NOVEMBER 29 DECEMBER 6 DECEMBER 13 COVID CONSIDERATIONS: We will be adhering to ViaSport Phase 3 of Return to Sport protocols as well as adhering to Basketball BC and City Of Nanaimo guidelines.
