Over 1000 in an hour session. Not to mention the mental workout which is just as good.

Passador BJJ 21.11.2020

Always evolving. Always improving. Thanks to our brothers at Elysium Muay Thai Academy for your commitment to our vision. We are building the nicest, best, safest training facility in the region. Our relentless drive for improvement is a principle we live by on and off the mats. #beapartofsomething

Always cleaning. Yes because clean is best. Yes because it's just great to be here, on this mat #beapartofsomething

The weak WILL become the strong

Passador BJJ 03.11.2020

Clean every day. Regardless of activity. Why? Because this is a place of mental escape, of physical health and strength. Of acceptance and assistance. No one is judged or seen for anything other than a teammate who wants to learn and who might be in need of help. This is a place of #virtue, of real virtue in the real and classic sense. A place that this team has created to be a sanctuary for all types of people. It feels good to be here.

Best of luck to Erin Herle!!

Right before the shutdowns I met with the folks from Niagara Sentinel. Very smart professionals. I was quite impressed. https://www.niagarasentinel.com//passador-bjj-business-rev

Leverage is how you level the playing field when you are smaller/weaker.

Passador BJJ 28.09.2020

It's time to turn the power switch off. To get back to health, to friendship, to positivity, to community, to brother and sisterhood. To learning, to helping and looking after one another, to virtue and to team. It's time.

If you ever wanted to take BJJ, this is the time. We will reopen soon and start classes geared toward solo drilling. A PERFECT opportunity to start slow, get in shape, and understand the basic movements of this art before we revert back to normal format classes. Stay tuned to this page for some incredible incentives and deals for June!

Exciting to see BJJ Clubs South of the border and around the world opening up and resuming classes! It will not be long until we are permitted to open - based on information that I am getting from people working on re-opening committees, I believe we will be open in June but with restrictions. So until the first part of our re-opening sees restrictions relaxing, we will run solo drilling classes that will incorporate BJJ, Judo, Yoga, Striking, and Core Conditioning. With ...our recent expansion, we have created a ton of mat space so that everyone can train responsibly and safely. These classes will also run on zoom but it will be great to get into our gis/rashguards/spats and get into the Academy and be training together. We will have a new software system for students to book their spot in our (new and temporary) class schedule. As there is demand for classes and they book fully, we will add more classes to the schedule. Once the restrictions ease, we will take next steps where contact is concerned - we have a plan for that too. Thanks to everyone who hung in there. I will discuss with each of you what this club is prepared to do in order to show thanks for supporting us. There are many things in store! Thank you for supporting this club so that we can return stronger.

Expansion almost complete. Re-opening plans. Digital membership promos. Exciting!

Beautiful and virtuous. I don't know what else to say. I hope the whole world watches this. (esp. the 25:00 mark. Amazing).

Why jiu jitsu is critical to mental exercise. Why jiu jitsu must and will endure.

Passador BJJ 08.05.2020

Ok last one and then the rest of this series is for our Academy students in the Vault group. How to sweep a larger opponent using leverage!

Passador BJJ 26.04.2020

While sitting at home why not learn a simple technique that can save your life or that of a loved one? No strength required for this choke and it can be executed from a position that weaker people are almost always put in by a stronger attacker - the bottom. This can be done on anyone wearing a shirt or jacket that has a collar.

Some really cool rolling with an old, old friend from the Gracie Academy and a pioneer in his own right. Phil rolling with his brother Ricardo, both black belts. Really cool stuff.

Passador BJJ 22.02.2020

Good things happening now. Great things planned for our return. It's in sight. Thank you to this group of truly special people. Can't wait to see the team again.

Passador BJJ 24.01.2020

Our program has always lead the way in terms of quality and integrity. We lead during the early stages of this crisis and we will continue to lead once we see the light at the end of the tunnel and can formulate a responsible way to reintegrate and train again. I am optimistic that this will not be too long from now. Let's hang in there. Cherish time with loved ones, learn online, heal our nagging injuries, and be ready to roll when we get the green light. I have so many great things planned for this moment. Can't wait for it.

It's tough to stay away but it doesn't hurt to be safe and for us it means exercising the very discipline that we have learned on the mats and directing it into making smart but difficult choices. We are not running classes but this is till where I want to spend my time. Cleaning the mats even though they aren't being used. The emptiness here is a symbol of solidarity of the group and our effort to do what is right for ourselves and our journeys. THANK YOU to this team for supporting what we have built

Important Update As mentioned in yesterday's post, we have a multi tiered plan to ensure the safety of our students. In light of the news yesterday that school is suspended, and in light of today's news that the first confirmed case in Niagara has been identified, we are taking even more precautionary steps. Keep in mind please that no matter what your feelings are on this issue, it is complicated and as an Academy owner, it is really complicated. It is my intent to ke...ep everyone training and learning for the next 3 weeks and beyond until we can get back to normal. I am optimistic that with proper protocol and with the warmer weather coming, that we can endure with minimal disruption to our lives. So the Academy is suspending all classes to mirror to the time frame that the Province established for school closures (3 weeks, restarting April 6th). The thought here is that this gives the community time to identify, isolate, and treat those showing symptoms. It's better to be safe here and this again is, a prudent measure. But we are not closed. Our Tier 2 Plan: The Academy is open during regular class times and even beyond that. Keep a close eye on the FB group for daily announcements as to our hours. Members will be permitted to come in and work out hitting the heavy bags, stretching, BJJ solo drills (check online for good ideas), jumping rope, hitting pads, using the speed bag/pull up bar/dip bar etc etc. Basically any solo fitness activity you like. The only thing I ask is to limit work outs to 30-45 minutes in order to minimize the number of people in the academy at the same time. I am currently working on a solution where I can teach classes online so that we can all keep learning. When I have this sorted out, I'll inform the group. Thanks everyone for your support and for your understanding. Let's all use this time to heal our bodies and minds, and be ready to hit the mats with everything we've got when the dust clears. The Academy will be open tonight from 6p-8pm for anyone looking to work out. If you come to the academy please strictly follow sanitary protocols that were posted on this page yesterday.

We have an action plan and a set of best practices to ensure that our gym is a safe environment. Our Academy has always been a beacon for safety and responsibility on the mats and we will continue to lead the way as we navigate the challenges associated with COVID-19. Until further notice, kindly abide by the following: - Competition participation for all members is restricted. - If you are travelling outside of the Niagara Region, please do not come to the gym for 3 weeks... to ensure that you do not have any symptoms - If you are experiencing any illness or symptoms do not come to class. Even if you are simply fatigued. Im the first person to always say "train if you're tired!". Not during this. Stay home. - The experts at GT French have given us an industrial cleaner that is among other things, a virucide. We will continue to use this liberally and clean often as we usually doThere are Purel Stations in the club. On tables and on top of the cube racks. Use them. Wash hands thoroughly regardless before, during, and after class. - Flexibility: Either during or outside of class times, students are free to do individual training inside the club. If you do not want to drill or roll with a partner, we have heavy bags in the club and have different fitness activities that can be done solo. Our teammate and owner of Elysium Muay Thai in our Academy Willie, has graciously offered us to use his equipment for any solo training, so feel free. If anyone wants to supplement their class training by using the gym alone or with a partner or two, reach out to me with times and I will ensure that the gym stays open all day and evening. This applies to anyone who wants to train solo even while classes are going on. I spent this afternoon on the phone with government representatives. The prevailing sentiment is that we will see cases in Niagara, but if we are all level headed and responsible, we can control this and see trends reversing inside (roughly) a months time. If the infection rate becomes significant, or if there is a public mandate to close, we will do so, but at this time we believe that with best practices, we can keep everyone happy and training. I believe that even if we do close, we can still stay open so that people can train individually, using the mat to stretch, or the muay thai equipment to punch or skip rope etc etc...

Passador BJJ 28.10.2019

Nothing but solid Jiu jitsu tonight. Great job team.

Passador BJJ 07.10.2019

It takes courage to step onto any mat. It takes a ton of it as a kid to want to graduate and step onto the adult mat. Luca has hung in there and trained hard now for a couple of years. Way to go! This kid is going to be a monster. Great session tonight everyone. Can't wait to see the result :D

Passador BJJ 04.10.2019

Does your body still look like it did when you joined a new gym on Jan 1? If you're bored with the gym and sick of not getting results or being motivated to even go, then it's time for a change. REAL RESULTS FAST 100% guaranteed.

Is your gym clean? You can tell by just looking around. Our Academy is cleaned every day. Mats are washed 1, sometimes 2 times each and every day. Floors swept, washed. All the time. We are setting the standard for safe and clean training in Niagara. Come and try a free class. #beapartofsoomething

Passador BJJ 11.06.2019

Always a special class when someone gets promoted. Aethan made the decision to train with people a lot older than him. That is never an easy decision. He is showing tremendous progress with his game and I couldnt be any more proud of a student. Way to show commitment and way to work hard Aethan. Well deserved. Thanks to the team for lifting him up.
