Acer x freemanii 'Jeffersred' (Autumn Blaze Maple) H 40'-50' W 40' Upright branching broadly oval form. This silver-red cross grows in alkaline soil where rebrum will not. Acer ginnala 'Frame' Flame Amur Maple H15'-20' w 15-20' Small dense form, Fragrant, yellowish white flowers in spring. Red keys. Fiery orange-red to deep red fall colour. Slow growing. Extremely cold hardy. Tolerates dry alkaline soils. Grows well in partial shade. Recommended street tree for under utility lines, between street and sidewalks.

Quercus palustris - Pin Oak H 55'-70' w 35'-50' Pyramidal with slender, horizontal branches. Many-lobed, sharply pointed leaves turn red in the fall. Readily transplanted because of fibrous root system. Does well in wet, poorly drained soils, intolerant of high pH. Distinctive tree. ##brauntree

Hammamelis virginiana -Common Witch Hazel H15-20' W 15-20' Open formed shrub with crooked branches. Green Foliage turns a nice yellow in fall. Fragrant 2" yellow flowers in October or November as late as December, depending on cool fall temperatures. Blooms on old wood. Prefers moist organic soil, but can tolerate dry conditions. Sun or Shade.

Cornus mas "Cornelian Cherry" H20-25' w 15' Large multi-stemmed shrub. Rounded growth habit. Attractive, exfoliating grey-brown bark. Early March yellow flowers appear before leaves. Bright, cherry-red fruit. Tolerates clay and various pH soils. full or partial sun

Cercis canadensis -Eastern Redbud H15'-25' w 25-30' Irregular, somewhat flat-topped, open shrub with ascending then spreading branches. Purple-pink blooms appear before foliage. Heart-shaped, round leaves turn yellow in fall. Excellent for woodland and naturalized setting.

Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Autumn Brilliance' Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry - H20-25' w 15' Rounded shape. Small blue-green foliage. Heavy stems covered with white blossoms in spring. Holds leaves well for brilliant red-orange fall color. Showy, 1/4" purple-blue fruit

Acer Rubrum 'Armstrong' Narrow, fastigiate form. Light green leaves turn yellow to orange-red in fall. Idea where space is limited

Message From Dave Braun, President A letter about burlap? As my son James (3 years old) likes to say, "it sure is!" We frequently hear, "Braun trees sell first," which is our goal as your tree growing partner, however, we know most trees aren't planted on the first day of Spring. To enhance your experience, we're improving our packaging with industry-leading extra-heavy burlap, for each tree. It's an extra cost to us, but our customers are worth it. What does this mean to yo...u? It means if you're holding trees for a project in late August (that was probably scheduled for early June), the trees will still look fresh and the packaging will be attractive. No re-tying root balls or disapproving looks for customers. My Dad, Peter, has a single piece of paper stuck on his cork board that say " Better is Better," and heavier burlap is better. I feel so fortunate to have grown up with those values in our family and I feel so blessed to be in this industry with you.
