WOW! We are so pleased about the excited response and would like to take a moment to answer the most common questions. Due to COVID, Brave Waves has had to change some things about the way we operate for the health and safety of our community. How are the lessons organized this year?... Due to COVID, we are now required to organize lessons in sessions. This allows students and instructors to be placed in consistent and traceable ‘cohorts’. Each cohort will have a primary instructor and an assigned assistant who will become the substitute teacher in the case of instructor absence. This also requires families to choose a specific package of lessons - a session. The session indicates specific days and times in the week that the lessons will be held. Unfortunately, Brave Waves is no longer able to offer the flexible and individualized scheduling we have done in the past. However, Brave Waves is excited to offer these session packages that we feel facilitate the best and safest learning opportunities to learn the life skill of swimming at this time and remain COVID compliant. Are parents required to get in the pool with their child? Currently, we are NOT asking parents to get in the pool with their child/children. According to the Canadian Swim School Association, we should have the ability to have our instructors interact with our students in the water through specific safety protocols. If this changes, families will be notified immediately. What are your hours of operation? June: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 3-7:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10-12 and 3-7:30 These hours may be expanded to accommodate demand! July and August: Monday to Friday: 8:30-1 and 3-7:30 Are new families who registered for 2020 considered part of the Friends and Family community? YES! Absolutely! What are the prices this year? Please see the chart below! Remember that lessons will be offered in blocks of 5, 6, 9, 10, and 12 lessons. Dates are not moveable. Please pick the sessions, including dates, times, and number of lessons, that work best for your family. As always, if you have more questions send us a message!
