Did you know that the past three month's editions (April, May, June) of Passages newspaper is available online at https://freeportcda.ca/passages/ The Passages... for the months of July, August and September over the past few years have been edited by Teri Chace as I would be at sea whale watching. This year COVID has trapped Teri in the USA and landed me so I will have time to do Passages unless someone else is interested in the position of the editor or I find an alternate summer job. The month of July will be in print so it will be slightly different than the past 3 months. It will max out at 28 pages and the images should translate well to black and white. Please send any items BEFORE JUNE 24th. Due to printing deadlines need to be a little tighter. Please send items to [email protected] for subscriptions and advertising please contact [email protected]

This will likely be the last issue we will be... making free for everyone, as we hope to be able to get back to printing again. The Breaking Waves committee members are meeting online to discuss if Breaking Waves Music Festival will occur this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions. No one is sure yet if we can make it happen so we are reserving any decisions until late June. If we are able to host Breaking Waves this year it will NOT include a film festival. ... If you are interested in helping for 2020 if it is a go please message us via this page. Thank you for your past years of support and we hope to see you in Freeport this summer!

The Lighthouse Cafe - Brier Island opened today with pizza and donairs on the menu. Thanks to Katherine Chisholm for giving me a behind the counter look at the... pizza magic in the making. The pizza crust was light and fluffy, the sauce was just right and the toppings and cheese generous. I did not get a chance try the donair yet but loom forward to it the future. Burgers, fish, fries and more on Sunday! This is there tester weekend! See more
