How about having some cool "off season" events? Here in The Bay, we tend to try and cram all of our events in to the 10 weeks of summer. Why?... "There is no such thing as poor weather, just poor clothing choices." We were tickled to have a seat at the Winter Tourism Round Table with the Visit Thunder Bay, Tourism Industry Association of Canada and Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO), where we explored how small and medium tourism operators and other tourism organizations can develop strategies to maintain their businesses and develop winter and shoulder season experiences/ products to attract visitors back once Canada is ready to welcome them again. It was amazing to hear how our local champions are creating oppourtunities for our community to shine. We loved hearing plans from the likes of Waterfront District Bia and Goods & Co. Market... it excites us to see that we are all striving for the same goal- to build Thunder Bay in to an elevated Canadian experience. What sorts of non-summer events and experiences would YOU like to see offered in our community?
