Here's another Waba message...

We did the Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge at BC Women's Hospital in Vancouver. Great success - particularly in our NICU. With a focus on a "fun event" we celebrated breastfeeding by giving each participant ( all in their own rooms) a new child's book and a participation certificate in a zip lock bag. Breastfeeding needs all the support it can get particularly during a pandemic. Do to workload we spread the word the day before and took about 90 minutes to do the event. Not bad for a once a year event. Love to hear what other hospitals are doing. It is not too late to take part in the Challenge- every mother and baby counts!

Great Theme for Breastfeeding Week - "Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet". WHO/UNICEF are calling on governments to protect and promote women's access to skilled breastfeeding counselling, a critical component of breastfeeding support. What you doing to support breastfeeding?

Demonstrate your support for Breastfeeding. Join the Quintessence breastfeeding Challenge!Either as a supporter and encourage at least 1 mom to sign up or as a breastfeeding mom- every mother and baby counts! Check out the WABA messaging 2020.

Naional Breastfeeding week is a good time to consider what kind of support is available to breastfeeding mothers with young children.... and join the Breastfeeding Challenge to indicate support!
