In honour of mother's day... for all those who deserve to be celebrated today....

Very important findings. Do note: there has never been a single study ever done demonstrating the safety of artificial baby milk. Never. Go check. Never. No study. Ever.... Right now, more than ever, parents need good help and proper support (ie. Not interference, not separation, Not unfounded practices) to continue breastfeeding. The alternative may mean very serious consequences if we don't keep babies breastfeeding.

An unbelievably generous offer by the wonderful and extremely learned Maureen Minchin Milk Matters - a Q&A with Maureen Minchin Thank you Maureen for all that you do! This FREE download is incredibly important even more so now in light of the misguided practices of many hospitals and birthing units to separate mothers and babies at birth.

Very important findings and good news for families whose baby is born via c-section. No need to separate mother and baby if mother tests positive for COVID19. #skintoskinalways #keepmothersandbabestogether #scienceoverfear

Critical for parents to get the support they need to continue breastfeeding. Now more than ever. Well said Maureen Minchin. Babies who are not breastfed are at increased risk. ... Keep mothers and babies together, skin to skin, from the first seconds after birth. And continue skin to skin, and breastfeeding as much and as long as possible at least for the first few months. Note: skin to skin means all the time, not just at feedings. This will save lives and help with immunity and support breastfeeing.

Thanks to @Lynda Kirby for posting this. What a forward-thinking move. Tongue tie should be considered as well but let's take these big gains one step at a time!... Sleep Medicine 66 (2020) 282-283 Editorial Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Beyond Adenotonsillectomy Almiro J. Machado Júnior*, Agrício N. Crespo Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil "At present, the treatment of choice worldwide for OSAS during childhood is adenotonsillectomy (AT). AT procedure account for 15% of all pediatric surgery carried out in USA. However, new studies have shown that even after AT, 60%-70% of children experience residual OSAS. A recent meta-analysis showed that the short-term results from AT were divergent, and that AT did not provide any significant long-term benefit." "The second most common OSAS treatment method is contin- uous positive airway pressure (CPAP) titration. Yet, despite its proven effectiveness, CPAP has many potential side effects." "Therefore, the following minimally invasive coadjuvant treat- ments have recently been proposed: (1) rapid maxillary expansion (RME), (2) use of oral appliances (OA) and (3) myofunctional therapy (MT)" This is a significant statement for the dental fraternity. The approach using non-invasive therapies are primarily dental procedures. As a dentist, we have great responsibility to help our young generation to be healthier. #pediatricOSA #dentalsleepmedicine #maxillaryexpansion #myofunctionaltherapy

Honouring all the mothers who breastfed babes of others. It wasn't a choice. Now, more than ever, breastfeeding must be a choice and a right. All women deserve access to excellent breastfeeding support.

Thanks for posting Maureen Minchin Very concerning and certainly gives one pause... Too often we have taken approaches for the greater good with an act-now, think-and-justify-later approach. ... It's time to call for much more rigorous research before we create sweeping protocols for the good of "everybody"....when really we might be hurting "every body".

Very concerning....
