This is my Himalayan Crystal Mala . It is not a fashion statement, it is used for my personal practice of Japa which is the recitation of mantra to help develop my spiritual growth. ... Serious practitioners do not usually display the mala as a form of jewelry but rather keep it under the clothing and close to the heart. This is about a deeper relationship with the Divine and need not be shared with others. The index finger or pointing finger is not used in japa practice as it is connected to the Ego. The Mala may be made out of different sacred materials traditionally sandalwood, rosewood or rudraksha. Have you committed to daily meditation yet? For 21 days try this; Get up 20 mins earlier to prepare a quiet place to sit, cross legs or on a chair... The spine straight, chest open, shoulders and face relaxed. Gaze at the Aum symbol for a few moments while relaxing into your seat. Close your eyes and feel the breath moving naturally in the heart centre . Inhale visualizing light coming into the heart center. This is a useful tip for people of all ages who are having difficulty stepping forward into the lunge from Downward Dog. Using the blocks under your hands creates more space to bring the leg forward. This is useful for arthritic conditions, muscle weakness, post op knee or hip or injury recovery. You can do the entire Sun Salutation sequence was using the blocks. I just finished teaching one of my regular private 90 min yoga classes and I was speaking to my students about personal expectations from yoga practice. Do we want a perfect looking body or do we want a healthy functional body? All the poses that we do in the Traditional Hatha practice serve a purpose for our wellbeing and longevity. ... None of this practice is to prove a point or to impress someone else. It’s all about finding out who we are, why we are here and keeping good care of this complex bio vehicle that we live in while we are here. How do we mend it when something goes off track, how do we keep it and our mind working smoothly while we are here so we can enjoy life! We want it to serve us well so we can burn up as much karma as possible this time around. Giving us more time to create better karma for the next round! Hopefully having a peaceful passing with awareness so the we can remember who we are as we go. So now I get ready to do a wonderful Reiki Healing session and then teach my Women Only Yoga Class at 5pm EST. I feel grateful that I made a decision long ago to help others find personal happiness and wellness in a Holistic way which eventually leads to self awareness. I am truly grateful for those who have trusted me and continue to study with me, especially in this time of uncertainty. I Am Grateful

Healing Supported Yoga Sequence For Tight Or Arthritic Hips And Low Back This sequence is helpful for those who sit a lot for work, have tight or arthritic hips. It’s also helpful for women who experience low back and abdominal dullness during menstruation. Ideally hold the first two cross leg positions for 3 minutes, the rest of the positions in the sequence can be held for 1 minute.
