I’ve been rationing my Twitter time lately because I get so ANGRY. #IWD2021 posts and resulting tweet-storms have been food for much thought. And much frustration. As a woman, as a former military officer and as a mom of women, but also as a military spouse. Especially when it comes to the vulnerability female military spouses have to simply accept. I got thinking about things I do as a #Milspo that I’ve just accepted. Curious, military spouses, have you adopted personal saf...ety techniques specific to the military lifestyle? Especially things you do in your OWN HOME? I have. I’ve slept with a baseball bat under my bed. Triple-checked locks. And I will always, ALWAYS have a dog. I wrote more about why here.

On this #InternationalWomensDay I’m sending a huge shout out to my #militaryspouse sisterswomen who serve their country daily without fanfare and without a paycheck. I see you. I see you waiting for that posting message that will throw you, once again, into the unknown. I see you fighting to maintain your sense of self in a world that revolves around someone else. Your strength is the backbone of the system. ... We have come so far, but change is slow. Keep fighting for your truth. Do not give up. Be angry. Demand respect. You are worth it.

I stubbed my baby toe the other day. Hard. It’s quite brilliantly coloured. And it really only hurts when I want to put on my brand, spanking new Peloton shoes and work out.
