What do 80% of Surrey Resident and 65% of Albertans have in common. They want to keep the RCMP as their police force. They recognize the extraordinary cost to transition. And they have leadership that won’t listen to the public.
Yesterday I walked through the area where the 84th Ave road from 140 - King George Blvd is planned. Let’s talk about the real facts. The area is a rich habitat.... We saw coyote scat, beaver wood, raptors, birds, ducks and rodents in one short stroll. I heard about the salmon in King Creek and make no mistake, trees will be taken down. I now have more recent up to date stats on the accidents at 88th & KGB - accidents as stated by the SSC Councillors are clearly outdated and misleading. Bear Creek Park is a gem of a park - we must protect it. (Below is a park sign about the beavers). See more
This was an integrated team of police from around the region including New West, Delta and Surrey RCMP. As well, our own Surrey Bylaw Officers. Great work all - keeping us safe.
Here is the Monday Council podcast. There is always so much to talk about.
Thank you so much to those at City Centre Church who selflessly give of their time - everyday. And thank you to so many that have been so generous and given to this ministry.
Thank you to those residents who call in. And a special thank you to those who did the land acknowledgement.
And we still have not been given a good reason Why!
Red Deer & Richmond Councils did their homework with a proper feasibility studies and doing their respective cost-benefit analysis. In both instances reports proved that staying with the RCMP in terms of the impact on the taxpayer and public safety was the best option. For whatever reason, the Surrey’s Mayor refuses to do that level of due diligence. And we still haven’t gotten to Why?
Mr. Lipinski, if you believe this is a "clean canvas", you are naïve and sadly mistaken. This process has been flawed, secretive and offensive. The old adage "you are the company you keep". Look at those involved in the process and the division and damage that has been inflicted on this city.
This multidisciplinary healthcare clinic will be a significant community asset in the Guildford area for underserved and vulnerable populations. Thank you to the healthcare professionals for choosing Surrey.
Much to be proud of with these folks. This is a great story of the gift we have in the Canadian mosaic.
Great day to be out planting trees and shrubs in this awesome city we share. Thank you to the Girl Guides who came out to help.
Come clean Mr. Mayor the residents want to know - the taxpayers deserve to know. Transparency and accountability is a responsibility born by each elected official.
This is why we love our Surrey Police - the RCMP.
To say this has been a flawed plan from the beginning is an understatement. It is naive to think that Mr Lipinski can fix this process or public relations nightmare created by the Mayor. Sorry Mr Lipinski - you are the company you keep.
Let’s hope it is a quiet night. Stay safe everyone. Thanks Surrey RCMP for all you do.
So it is fairly evident that there is a leak with the Surrey Police Board members. This has been a sham of a process from day one.
In case you missed it: Surrey City Councillors and community leaders agree. Mayor McCallum’s reckless police transition plan must be stopped. https://vancouversun.com//vaughn-palmer-liberals-have-give

Thank you Surrey RCMP for all you do and for keeping us safe
Fraser Health Chief Medical Health Officer say Surrey residents should restrict their households to members only - no "safe six" in our city. The spike in our city warrants that restriction. But then Mayor McCallum comments that we can build a resistance to the virus with healthy eating. He also comments about the Opioid Crisis and that the city set up a hospital for overdoses, all the shelter space that is now available for those who are unhoused and the patrols that are set up for people who are street entrench. It's time to get a Fact Checker!
Surrey's Emergency Weather Response (EWR) is in a crisis - we must get more spaces lined up within the coming weeks.
Glad to have you at the Surrey RCMP Cambria.
The deadline to nominate a friend, neighbour or colleague for Surrey's Good Citizen of the Year Award is fast-approaching! Know someone who has helped make our city a great place to live? Nominate them by October 23, 2020. Learn more: http://ow.ly/z6zV50BNvkz
Do it for the health of it.
Virtually Meet and Greet the Surrey RCMP....and tell them we appreciate all they do for us everyday.
Interesting to see where the voters came out and where they did not. The political arena is challenging and a commitment. Thank you to all the volunteers and candidates that contribute to the democratic process.
WOW - since when is allowing people to vote on how their tax dollars are spent defecation? Public Safety is important to everyone and citizens want their say.
The residents deserve a say. This process has been flawed by McCallum from day 1. The Province has responsibility to ensure that public consultation was robust and credible. That did not happen.
On a totally lighter note - politics aside. One of my favourite tv shows is Moosemeat and Marmalade. It is on APTN. What’s yours?
Residents need to know the plan and the cost. This has been a colossal misstep in public policy development. And NO it is not unanimous and NO it was not the #1 issue on the platform.
It is irresponsible and even immoral that given COVID, the Opioid Crisis, the homelessness and housing crisis in Surrey, and now an economic crisis, the police transition is even being considered. Buckle up Surrey taxpayer your taxes will increase significantly.
Great support from the residents in the Newton neighborhood too. Nice to chat with community leaders like Ramona Kaptyn and many others that share the concerns and want to keep the RCMP in Surrey.
Mr. Horgan - it is irresponsible of your government to continue down this road when you know there has not been a feasibility study or proper public consultation. Public safety is at risk - you have the ability to take a sober second look and demand answers.
Love this picture.
Remembering those fallen officers and their families today.
It is election time in Surrey and lawn signs are springing up everywhere - 6,000 so far.
As of today Sept 26,2020 this meeting is still noted on the then Solicitor General’s public calendar.
