Back then, I had what they called a Captain’s bed. I loved my bed. It was covered with a bright red bedspread. I loved it so much that I decorated it with pretty little stickers and my treasured collection of stuffed animals. Even when I had outgrown the stickers and pretend pets, I could not bring myself to get rid of them. My bed sat high. It had 4 drawers on one side. The side without drawers was pushed against a wall.
