Today’s project We all know that new kitchens tend to be really expensive. So many of us decide to paint existing cabinets as an alternative facelift. But some get really excited and jump in without a clue of the process. It’s not as simple as slapping on a coat of paint. So my project is to sand down that slapped on paint. Clean them thoroughly. Prime with a good quality primer. And lightly sand again. And apply 2 coats of a good quality melamine paint (lightly sanding in between). It takes time and patience. But the end result can be beautiful and at a fraction of the cost of buying new cabinets. (Put that $ towards new countertops, sink, fancy faucet & light fixtures! ) Or maybe a trip

Well looks like summer is now behind us sadly . As some of you may have noticed, I’ve not been very active on the real estate front this summer. I decided to take the summer off for myself. I bought a Harley and spent most sunny days adding up the miles! It has been an amazing summer and am so grateful I allowed myself the time to enjoy it. Back to work ... currently prepping a new upcoming listing. A lovely 3 bedroom end unit townhome in Kemptville.

There’s a new trend happening where some women over 50 are buying homes with other women. With the divorce rates being so high, this is not surprising. As a woman who fits in this category, I can completely appreciate this trend. I lived on my own for 5 years in a rental after being a homeowner for nearly 30 years. Paying for someone else’s mortgage was a lil tough pill to swallow. As I’m sure it is for many women. This trend addresses that but more importantly, I think it ad...dresses many other things we often don’t consider. Loneliness is one of the leading causes of depression. And there’s no age limitation on this. Sharing a home with other like minded women can allow us to invest in our future, save money to travel, and have a support system to allow us to grow.
