REOPENING With the new Covid rules, we will be able to reopen with restrictions. We will reopen on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 16th. Masks are required and sanitizer will be available to use when you arrive and as you leave. If too many people arrive at once, we may have to ask you to wait in your vehicle until someone leaves.... We will have a sign-in sheet as required in the event contact tracing is required. As before, if you, anyone in household, or any of your contacts are not feeling well or are showing signs of infection, please do not come in. If possible, we ask you limit your household to one person to come in to pick up books. Please put returns into the return slot so Lorraine can keep the returns isolated.

Just a reminder that as of 12:30 today we will be open - with the restrictions noted in the previous post which should be pinned to the top of our page. Please remember your mask and maintain distance while in the library.

As noted, we are back for curb-side pick up and we've got a big batch of new titles. Take a look and call or email Lorraine to arrange to get any of these new or other titles set aside for pickup.

Lorraine is back at work. We are still under restrictions, but we are doing curb-side pickup as we were before the holidays. Returns can go into the slot as usual. Email or call Lorraine to arrange for book pickup and to take care of any renewals or memberships.

We have starting a trial of contactless home delivery and pickup of books for those who are unable to get in for the curbside pickup. (In-town only) For those who can get in for curbside pickup, please continue to do so. This program is only for those who perhaps don’t have a vehicle or for other reasons, can’t make use of the curbside pickup. Contact Lorraine by email at [email protected] or call 747-2415 to get your order in and leave your address.... We will leave your books at the door and knock or ring your bell and leave. To return the books, contact Lorraine to arrange a time and leave your books in a bag at your door before the agreed on time. Days and time depend on the availability of volunteers. Again, for those who are able to get to the library, please continue to do so. We don’t have the volunteer hours to deliver for everyone.

Like pretty much any other organization, the library is facing some challenges during these difficult times. We not only have to work around the Covid restrictions, but we also find ourselves facing some financial difficulties ahead. We are largely funded by taxpayers and it has been many years since we have asked for an increase. We hope to avoid asking again. But if we have to, we want to keep it to a minimum. Our last increase was approved in November 2010. The board is w...orking hard looking at every single expense to maximize every dollar we receive and to continue to provide as high of a level of services as possible. We have identified some areas to trim and will be taking those steps very soon. We are also looking at ways to generate extra income to reduce any requests for funding as much as possible. We will be launching some of those initiatives soon and are hoping the community will support our efforts. We have our finances in place for 2021, but reserves will be depleted going into 2022 so we need to be proactive and act over this coming year to prepare for the next budget challenge. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be putting some of our plans into action and are confident, with support from community, we can overcome these challenges.

We just wanted to touch base with everyone about the new restrictions and how we are operating. We would appreciate it if you could click share on this post to reach people who do not follow us. We remain closed for the foreseeable future, but still have options for you. We are doing curbside pickup and there are a few ways you can order your books. You can search the catalog and put a book on hold; you can call Lorraine at 747-2415 and give her the list of books you want; o...r you can email Lorraine at [email protected] to put your requests in. She will prepare your order and let you know when you can come and pick up. And another reminder that we have a very large selection of magazines, ebooks, and audio books you can download and read on just about any computer or device. Lorraine can walk you through the set up if you need help. We are also working on some other initiatives so stay tuned for more announcements! Please Share.

CLOSED STARTING NOVEMBER 11th New Covid restrictions start tomorrow so the library will once again be closed for at least 4 weeks. We are open today till 5. We are doing curb-side service so you can still order and put books on hold and Lorraine will arrange for you to pick them up outside. Lorraine's hours may vary somewhat so it is best to contact her directly to arrange pick up. You can email or call. Lorraine does not use Facebook so messages here will not go directly to ...her. Book returns can still be done using the outside return box. Not everyone has FB and with the previous closure, not everyone was aware. If you could let family and friends who might not be on here know so they are aware we'd appreciate it. If you have any kind of tablet, phone or computer, remember we have access to a very large collection of e-books as well as audio books. Give Lorraine a call if you need help getting going with digital borrowing.
