With the current market fluctuation, l just wanted to put out a friendly reminder of what happened in 2008 and the recovery period following. These are historic values and cannot be used to predict the future, but the yellow line shows staying the course in the equity market, red shows selling out and trying to buy back in later, green shows selling stocks and moving to a bond portfolio, and blue is selling out entirely and holding cash.

Babies are expensive, but raising a child on your own can be financially exhausting. It's estimated to cost around $250,000 to raise a child to age 18, and more if you plan to help with post secondary. There is no child support payments that come from the loss of a spouse. I have been seeing more and more "go fund me's" for just this situation and I feel bad for the families left in a position where they need to ask for help. I think you owe it to your spouse and children to... at least sit down with a professional to look at your options to insure your family is supported if you are not here to support them yourself! Often for less then the cost of you phone bill, you can have the piece of mind knowing that your family will be taken care of!

Well it is official!!!
