Happy 336th Birthday to the King of ALL Music teachers - Johann Sebastian Bach! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyqvoK6RXnQ
By popular demand, we have added new sessions to our Little Shakers music classes! Introduce the joys of making music in our classes for 18 month-3 year olds or 4-5 year olds. Through singing, small instruments and movement, your child will develop rhythm, pitch matching and improved coordination. This parent participation class runs out of the Central Saanich Cultural Centre in partnership with Panorama Recreation. https://panoramarec.perfectmind.com//B/BookingCoursesPage
Happy International Women's Day Everybody!!!

A very big thank you to all the great musicians (and camera operators!) who shared their beautiful music with everyone for our Online Recital! All the videos are now up and they look and sound great! You can find all the music on the school's YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UCTC6HMmtNgfWSmbW10HWbFw). Feel free to subscribe and enjoy all these great songs by our amazing and talented students! See you all in 2021!!!
First day of winter, first snowfall and no power! A perfect day to take out our card making kit from Mctavish Academy of Art. We want to wish everyone a very happy holiday, especially all of our local business owners who are all working so hard to stay open. From one small business owner to another, you are amazing and your hard work and dedication to your customers doesn't go unnoticed. Tag a local business that you love and let's show them how much we appreciate them!

With announcements this afternoon and following Dr. Henry's new restrictions, we remain open for in-person lessons. We will now be requiring masks in all parts of the school, including our lesson studios, for both teachers and students. We want to thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work together to ensure we can remain open.

All this wet weather has got us thinking about cosy blankets, hot drinks and new indoor pursuits. With group activities limited and outdoor events being cancelled, why not finally pick up that guitar that has been gathering dust in the corner? Let our very talented and patient teacher Jesse help you get back into the instrument, or get you started for the very first time! Call or email us today to book your in-person or online lessons.
If you haven't already seen this extremely talented young lady and her epic battle with Dave Grohl, you have to check her out!
Happy 81st Birthday to a Canadian treasure, Gordon Lightfoot. One of the most underrated guitarists, period - Lightfoot is truly a living legend! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXzauTuRG78

Hey everyone. We simply can't wait to start the school year tomorrow! We are also beyond thrilled to welcome back one of our dearest friends - the super-duper musician and teacher JESSE CLARK (guitar, bass, ukulele)!!! Jesse is back on our teaching team after a couple years of recording and touring with his band "The Steadies"! Jesse has after-school times available and he can't wait to start rocking out with his students!
Meanwhile...here's some classic footage from our recital archives. This one is from all the way back in 2012. Chris Paynter on drums, Adam Marshall on bass and a young guitarist who would later become a teacher at Brentwood School of Music, Jesse Clark (who might be the subject of a future music school announcement)! Enjoy "You Enjoy Myself" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viP6WBYLxnM
Thank you so much to everyone participating in our "Ongoing Online Recital"! Everyone sounds so fantastic! The show is NOT over folks! We are all kinda crazy right now getting ready for the school year, but we still have more performers preparing music for us....
...and heeeeeeere's Brandi! Our very first adult student to share their music at our ongoing "Virtual Recital". Way to go Brandi!!!
Here is the lovely singing voice of Avery Loveday. She is singing "There Is a Castle On a Cloud" from Les Miserables:
What a wonderful collage of musical genres and instruments in our first few performers! Grace Warren has been taking piano at the Brentwood School of Music for at least as long as her twin sister Mary (they were both tiny). They have both grown into fantastic musicians. In this final new performance of the day, Grace plays a beautiful heartfelt rendition of the timeless Bonnie Raitt song "I Can't Make You Love Me". Thanks for tuning in folks! More to come.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKHac_tpMHg
And now, the always funny AND famous Chase Sisters (Annika on bass, Kalli on drums) with their silly teacher Mike playing some classic old Metallica: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85qT7qEFPa4
Next up, we have the wonderful singing voice of Marlee Yong singing a beautiful "Ave Maria" with the C Major Prelude by J.S. Bach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3uN_J2iUvA&feature=youtu.be
Welcome to the first EVER virtual Recital at the Brentwood School of Music! We will be posting music by some of our current students - and some older stuff as well. First up, we have an amazing performance on the piano by Mary Warren, who has been a student at the school for more than a decade with her teacher Katherine Campbell! This is one of the most challenging Études by the great Frédéric Chopin. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKB_I6XHuQ0
Hey everybody and Happy Back-to-School Season!!! This is just a little reminder about our ONLINE RECITAL TODAY! We will be posting performances throughout the day on our facebook page (we might also throw in some old classic performances from the vault). Don't worry - if you haven't gotten around to making a music video yet, we will continue to post throughout the week. Email your videos to [email protected] ENJOY!!!
