Well, it's no surprise, but this deep freeze has caused buses to be cancelled again for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10. Once again the school is open for stu...dents who are able to make it to and from school safely. And once again, we urge extreme caution when choosing to drive your child in, or have them walk - the wind chills lately are especially concerning. Safety is our primary concern - we want all students and parents to be safe! See more

Due to continued frigid temperatures, Wild Rose School Division has made the decision to cancel buses again for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9. Of course the sc...hool is open for students who can safely get to school and back again, but we encourage parents to please exercise caution when driving/sending kids in such extreme weather - student safety is our highest priority and we want them to be safe. Greetings, BES families - hope you are all staying safe and warm indoors in this bitterly cold weather - it is COLD outside! Here's what's happening this week a...t BES: * Subway lunch order forms are due Monday (KG can come in on Tuesday) * If your child is planning on handing out Valentines on Thursday, they need to come to school by Monday - this way they can sit for 72 hours before being handed out. * Thursday is Red & Pink Day - we want kids and staff to wear red and pink to bring some Valentine's cheer to our hallways! * Thursday is also Subway lunch delivery day - yum! * Friday is NO SCHOOL! Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm!
Growing Smiles orders have arrived. Pickup is scheduled for tomorrow from 2-4 in the gym. However, if you happen to be in town this afternoon to pick up your kids you can pick it up today. Please all wear a mask *PLEASE NOTE at this time we don’t know which school kids may need to be picked up at because of the boiler issue*
Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to buy tickets! A massive thank you to those who have purchased tickets, we have exceeded our goal! Reminder that the draw date is February 14th, good luck everyone!
"As a result of a boiler problem at Breton Elementary School this morning, all BES students and staff will be redirected to Breton High School for the start of ...the school day. Once the problem is fixed, the Breton Elementary staff will walk the students back to BES." Thanks, Brad URGENT NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS

Greetings, BES families and community! We have a problem and are wondering if anyone out there can help us. With having to remove a lot of classroom furniture... in order to try to create space between desks, we have ended up with a storage problem. Our literacy/numeracy break-out space, as well as a room that we had wanted to turn into a "chill out zone" for students who are feeling stressed or anxious, are now full of tables, desks, chairs, rolled up rugs, and anything else that had to be removed from classrooms. So this keeps us from being able to use them to best support student learning and wellness. What we are looking to get is a "sea can" that we can move onto the school grounds and then move all the extra furniture and classroom stuff into it, which will free up those learning and wellness spaces again. Does anyone know where we could possibly get one at a reasonable price? Are there people/companies in our area that we could support by renting/buying from them? Anyone have one you're not using that you would be willing to "donate" for us to use for the year? If you have any information that could help us in acquiring a sea can, we would really appreciate you contacting the school and letting us know. The sooner we can move the extra furniture out, the sooner we can use these spaces again to support students!
Great news! Since we weren't able to hold an "in person" Book Fair during Parent Teacher Interviews, Scholastic has made it possible to host a "Virtual Book Fa...ir"! Starting tomorrow (November 10) and running until November 20, parents can click on the link below to virtually browse through a wide collection of books for all ages. If you find books you'd like to buy, payment is done online and books are shipped directly to your household. How awesome is that? There is free shipping for all orders over $35 and a $6 flat shipping fee for orders under that amount. The other great news is that Breton Elementary will receive 20% of the total sales in product rewards that will go to enhancing the book collection in our library. It's a "win-win" situation! I will also be emailing the book fair link to all parents who are part of our contact list. We thank you in advance, for supporting our Book Fair! https://bookfairs-canada.myshopify.com/pages/5152112
