Today is World Water Day. Humans are between 60-70% water by composition and our bodies react to water exposure in different ways. Hydrotherapy is the practice of using water (of different temperatures) as a form of therapy and has been used for thousands of years. Common applications include: applying a hot water bottle to sore muscles for relaxation applying a cold pack to an inflamed joint/acute injury to reduce swelling... sensory deprivation in a salt filled float tank the energizing experience of an ice bath And many more... All of these approaches have different effects on our circulation and our nervous systems and can be a significant tool in treating a variety of conditions. They can also be used prophylactically in order to build a stronger and more resilient nervous system while improving circulation and immune functions. RMT’s regularly use hydrotherapy while treating their clients and this can enhance the massage therapy experience, whether you are looking to heal/recovery faster, relax more, or build strength and resilience. In what ways can using hydrotherapy be helpful to YOUR health and wellness goals? Unsure? Just ask me! See more

This last year hasn’t been easy It seems we are all trying to multitask around the clock. Did you know increased task-switching, especially with phones and computers, and working from home can elevate stress hormones like cortisol leading to slower healing and recovery. ... Massage can help encourage the parasympathetic (brakes) nervous system so you can relax, heal, recover more quickly and completely.
