Pregnancy cardio... I personally love cardio especially running. It comes easier to me than strength training. I felt great running my first two pregnancies but not my last two. Running is high impact for anyone especially for someone carrying a baby. The risk versus the reward wasn’t worth it for me in my last 2 pregnancies. It also didn’t feel good for me so I decided to switch up my cardio. It may be worth it for some women though and that’s ok!! ... So do I stop cardio? NO. Mentally I need the sweat during pregnancy. It helps ease my pregnant temper(ask my husband ) and give me some more energy to feel great. Below are MY favourite cardio movements during pregnancy. Have a try if your looking for other options. 1- Assault bike. I have a love/ hate with this bike. It is a great workout in a short period of time. It’s a full body but very low impact! My husband also uses it a ton to break up running. It’s why I invested in one for my home. . 2.)Stairs- I love going outside to be active. Usually that means a run. Since running was not to feeling great I switched it to walking stairs. Luckily we have some great river valley stairs that are steep and long and allow me to walk while still getting the tough workout I crave. 3.)Hill intervals- incline work is great for pregnancy. It focus on your posterior chain and burns the glutes. I do hill intervals on a treadmill or outside. 4. Skierg- this is a great low impact machine the focuses on your upper body. Worth a try if you have access to one! 5. Rower- this machine is also a great full body workout with low impact. Make sure you watch your form in later pregnancy. Decrease leaning back if you notice changes in your core control as your belly grows. Ask me if you have questions!!

Stop comparing your life and start living it Comparing ourselves to others is second nature to most of us. We tend to set goals for ourselves based on looking at, seeing or hearing others - that’s life and it's okay. However, I wanted to write a post to question those behaviours and to truly learn that comparing may not be the best answer. And, I have a pretty good example I have an identical twin sister we are best friends and we grew up sharing everything. We played s...ports together, we had the same friends, we dressed similar. We were the typical identical twins and now that we have grown up, our paths have taken us very different ways. We are still very alike but also very different . We have ALWAYS been compared as people find it intriguing to figure out the differences. The funny thing is that the comparisons have mostly been in a negative way; who is the chubbier one, who has the bigger nose, who is smarter and more athletic and even who is the nicer one. This always left one of us feeling insecure about something. Luckily we tried to balance it out with each having negatives For example I agreed I had the bigger nose and Brittany accepted she was the chubbier one. Being involved in the health & fitness, I still cannot believe that as young girls we learned to accept differences as if they were flaws. Our bodies might have started out similar (not the same) but not now. After 4 boys my body certainly will never be quite the same but I don’t compare myself to my sister anymore. Now let’s be realistic, even though we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others, it is still hard not to! If we tried to mimic each other, like we used to, and compete with/compare ourselves constantly, neither one would be happy because that is part of it.healthy and happy is so different based on each person’s life/interest/balance/ability. No matter how similar people can be, everyone is DIFFERENT. From my own experience, the moment Brittany and I discovered our own independent balances we truly became comfortable with ourselves. Let’s all stop comparing each other and starting supporting one another for all the differences that make us unique.

At one time I thought their was one way or best posture that everyone should thrive for. It never fully made sense to me but it was what was taught to me originally and it went along with my biases. It’s also a lot easier to have one simple answer for everyone then It depends. As a mom there is no way I’m going to stand, sit, or move in one posture all day. I’m chasing my kids, catching them from falling, carrying them and I want to be strong in all ways while doing those movements. Variation in how we move is important so instead of thinking or worrying if your moving wrong just focus on moving #alltheways since their is no one way.
