Yippee, hip, hip, hooray! ***********MOMENTUM BUILDING FOR*********** *****FRED RANNARD, SR. OPEN WHEEL CLASSIC*****... Due to popular demand the fourth annual Fred Rannard, Sr. Open Wheel Classic will take place as planned on Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12 at Agassiz Speedway in Agassiz, British Columbia. Once again the race will feature Vintage Racers (Sprint Cars and Super Modifieds from the 70's, 80's and 90's), Dwarf Cars and Midgets. "We weren't sure whether to race this year or not but once we started getting positive feedback from track officials and the racers we decided to go for it," said Fred Rannard, Jr. "Obviously things will be different this year and we won't have all the bells and whistles like we usually do but we're still going to have a race and that's the main thing. And at least people won't have to read about another big event being cancelled this year." The three classes will be split into two separate sessions each day with Dwarf Cars and Midgets from 2:00-5:00 and Vintage Racers from 6:00-9:00. The pits will open at 1:30 and 5:30 both days. All drivers and crews must vacate the pit area once their session is over. Only 50 spectators are allowed each day but the races will be streamed live on the Agassiz Speedway youtube channel at no charge. Last year's winners, Tyson Cross (Vintage), Troy Globe (Midgets) and Kyle Kennedy (Dwarfs) will all return to defend their championships. The fourth annual Fred Rannard, Sr. Open Wheel Classic is again sponsored by Brian's Auto Glass in Abbotsford and Tron Fabrication of Langley. Contingency awards will be provided by our friends at Speedmart, Joe's Racing Products and Harding Motorsport Supply.
