It was a gorgeous night to shoot the stars. My target was the Heart and Soul Nebulae, IC 1805, lies some 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is an emission nebula showing glowing ionized hydrogen gas and darker dust lanes.

This picture shows a large nebulous region in the constellation of Cygnus. The brain-like nebula in the bottom of the photo is the Crescent Nebula. It is an emission nebula around 5000 light-years away. If the Crescent Nebula were visible to the naked eye in the night sky it would be about 1/4 the size of the moon.

What does adventure mean to you?

I can’t believe how good this photo came out. Spent a couple hours last night shooting the Andromeda Galaxy (M31). Did you know Andromeda is moving toward the Milky Way at a speed of 100km/sec. in about 4 billion years they will collide and form a super galaxy nicknamed as Milkdromeda! Cool!
