In times of high anxiety it can help to quiet the mind through consciously breathing and narrowing our breadth of focus. I took these macro photos near my home in Jasper, Alberta yesterday afternoon as spring beings to emerge, and I found them very therapeutic to edit and to look at. Right now - especially on social media - the anger, frustration, confusion, and grief are palpable. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't wearing me down pretty hard. So if you are feeling the anxiety of the times, confused what to look at, listen to, or believe in this time of change; engage yourself in the smaller cycles of nature, they are refreshingly and reliably consistent. I hope these little pieces of spring help you as they helped me.

One of the highlights of this past summer was spending five days in the Fryatt Valley in the Jasper backcountry strolling alpine meadows, scrambling scree slopes and swimming in turquoise glacial pools with two dear friends and inspiring individuals. I am back in Peru facilitating now, and halfway through the final two month program of the year with Ayahuasca Foundation Retreats. It is such a beautiful gift to see people pushing through all the challenges in their lives and... reconnecting deeply with their roots, the connection to nature which we all share. I’m finally feeling ready to submit my book ‘Water and Light’ for publishing. The process has been intimidating to say the least, but I can see that my fears around it are really only reflections of my own struggle for self acceptance.
