This Sunday Pastor Martin Vellekoop will be preaching for us. Martin is a transitional pastor in the CRC denomination. Pastor Martin will be preaching on the following: Is it possible to navigate life with hope and peace? Including today? It is with God’s grace. God’s grace is a theological reality. It’s also an everyday practice and attitude we have toward our fellow human being. Being a person of grace is neither as automatic as we might think nor as easy as we might hope. ...Grace lived involves intentional decisions and practiced behaviours that take time and everyday effort on the part of each of us. Join us Sunday as we explore grace. The sermon text can be found online here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/ Join us Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This coming Sunday we once again welcome back Pastor Jenna Fabiano. The focus of Pastor Jenna’s message will be on Christ’s Lordship and the need for us to offer control into His hands. When the storms of life blow (which they will continue to do), who do we believe Jesus to be? And do we trust Him in the face of a chaotic world? Join us Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg The text for the service is Matthew 8:23-27 and is available online here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/

This Sunday we welcome back Pastor Jenna Fabiano. Pastor Jenna will be looking at Luke 2:22-38 (the story of Anna and Simeon). She will be nudging the church to considerin light of these two characterswhat they are waiting for/hoping for. Because what we are waiting for shows what our hearts are most devoted to. So how does our life differ, how does it all change, when the core of our desires shifts to Christ? Luke 2:22 - 38 can be read online here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/ Join us Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This week, the fourth Sunday of Advent, we are going to be looking at the role of Mary. Mary is most often known as the the humble mother of Jesus, but is that all she should be known for? Should she not also be known as a revolutionary figure? Join us this week as the look at the themes of mercy, justice and faithfulness, all of which are found in Jesus, but also in his mother, Mary! Can you believe it, Advent is already here! This year in particular, the Advent themes of waiting and preparing seem to fit quite well with the COVID experiences of this past year. It seems that ever since COVID hit way back in March, all we have been doing is waiting for this to be over! So how then do we wait? In times of distress, frustration, and maybe even anger, how are we called to wait? Join us this week as we reflect on waiting with CONFIDENCE! We often get into trouble in the church when we try to live in the past, when we try to recapture ‘the good ol’ days.’ Paul seems to be dealing with a similar issue in Philippians 3; people trying to control the church by living in the old law. Join us online this Sunday as we reflect on what it means to 'forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead.’ Our online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

As we continue on in our sermon series on Philippians, we will be looking at one of the core themes of this letter: Unity! Our world is divided by so many things that unity seems a rare commodity. Join us as we reflect on how, as a church, we can become a beacon on unity in our world, and through that be a light for the world around us. This Sunday we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. What is there to be thankful for this year? Well, if we all think about it there are still many simple and ordinary things which are all daily graces from God and for which we ought to come together (online) to give thanks. This Sunday we are blessed to have Pastor Joan DeVries from TWU joining us to preach and lead us. Joan DeVries is an ordained Christian Reformed pastor, who, after leading several congregations in Ontario, is now a Professor of Worship Arts at Trinity Western University. She and her husband live in Fort Langley. Pastor Joan will be preaching on Psalm 103: 8-18. In this challenging time, we might wonder who God is and what God is doing. In addition, we might have faulty views of God based on our own experience of a father. Psalm 103 will help reorient us to knowing our God who is loving and good. 17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen... and no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. 19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments. In Mark 3:31-35, Jesus seems to ignore his biological family and state that he has a new family found in his followers. How does Jesus really feel about family, and how should our churches respond? This week we welcome Dena Nicolai, a Chaplain and Refugee Support Mobilizer in Vancouver. Continuing on with scripture passages drawn from the Lectionary, this week we'll be looking at the end of Romans 8. Here, Paul reminds our suffering world that life through the Spirit is life with Jesus, who loved us enough to suffer for us and who still suffers with us. In the midst of this, Paul calls us to grief and lament, asking us to first name the brokenness around us so that we can then work together with God as he conquers evil and renews all things. This week Pastor George is going to begin preaching from the lectionary. In the church calendar we find ourselves in what is known as Ordinary Time, but I think we can agree there seems to be nothing ordinary about this time. Join us this week as we look at Jesus' response to the crowds of people he encounters on his journeys.
