Bridges to Wellness 15.03.2021

UPDATE: As per the update provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, massage therapists are able to resume providing services under the following guidelines: We remind all massage therapists that you have the option to return to work, and it remains the choice of the individual therapist on when they choose to return. 1. All clients must have either a written prescription from a Medical Doctor or a written referral from a regulated health professional (https://www.alber...ta.ca/regulated-health-professions.aspx) a. An existing written prescription is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. b. An existing written referral is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. c. A copy of the original written prescription or written referral is acceptable. d. The written prescription or written referral must be provided prior to receiving treatment. e. A copy of the written prescription or written referral must be kept in the client’s file. 2. All previous requirements for hygiene standards, PPE, masks, and other barriers issued by the individual associations will still apply until January 4, 2021. We will release the new Infection Prevention Control Manual for Massage Therapists in Alberta document before the end of 2020, which will come into effect January 4, 2021. This exemption, which has been provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) may be terminated or modified by the CMOH in writing without notice and for any reason as determined by the CMOH. At this time we do not know when this will change for those without prescriptions...just please do your due diligence and make sure you have a prescription from a regulated health professional in the meantime if you want to receive massage therapy! Wear your masks and stay healthy!!

Well last clinic day of 2020, missing my partner, missing my fellow classmates, but here's hoping 2021 brings a better year! Patients don't worry we won't forget about you during our break we'll miss you too! I invite you to try some of these things in the mean time. Focus on things that remind you of the goodness of humans and their natural connection, when you find itshare it! Time enjoy it!! It maybe the best gift during this pandemic. Reach out to people you love or... do something you’ve always wanted to try like gourmet cooking? Learn a different language? Reconnect with old friends? New healthy habits? Be generous it’s good for your health, and when you give it increases your self esteem and self-worth, and boosts your immune system. Laugh as it relaxes the body, boosts immunity by triggering release of endorphins, protects your heart, and burns calories, (especially if your like me and gained the COVID 15;)). Let's get prepared for a healthy year and pre-book your appointments now to make sure we can help you achieve those goals! Call and book with team "Samber" aka Sam and Amber, 403-520-5289, for January appointments... Merry Christmas everyone and Have a safe and Happy New year!!

There's a few different petitions going around out there at this point. Having anything that can show the difference of the ups and downs our clients go through while not receiving and receiving services will be documented in healthcare and could possibly help the future of the regulation of massage in this province..please sign one!!
