Click the link to join the community (network) and RSVP to learn more about it. PLEASE SHARE with those who may benefit from this scholarship for SF in schools. Description... This SFPiE Scholarship award is aimed at fostering the advancement and implementation of Solution-Focused approaches in schools by encouraging action research in school settings (K-12), and to support teachers, administrators, researchers and practitioners who wish to implement solution-focused (SF) practices in their school community. Specifically, action, process, and qualitative research will be given preference. The scholarship would also like to give preference to research that is focused on SF coaching and teacher growth. Furthermore, SF research that focuses on teacher and student interactions in the classroom would also be given preference. This scholarship includes both monetary and/or opportunity awards. Eligibility Teachers, administrators, researchers and practitioners who wish to implement solution-focused practices in their school (K-12) community are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to applicants who have a high probability of completing their projects. This determination will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: the significance of the study, rigor of the research design, previous research or practice experience, and access to an appropriate sample, other institutional support. There’s no preference considered for a specific geographic region. Applications from all over the world (not just North America) will be considered. Awards The Solution Focused Practices in Education Scholarship will provide up to CA$3,500 to support ongoing or proposed project(s) and/or Opportunity Award of a year-long mentorship and community of practice. Scholarship Fund The funding on individual projects will depend on the number of projects being awarded. Priority will be given to research that supports empirical evidence of SF practices, mechanisms of change, meta-analyses on SF interventions or other research which could directly or indirectly investigate the effectiveness of SF practices. The scholarship fund application would ask the applicant to provide some timeframe for their research activities so that there would be some accountability with checkpoints and progress during the year, if awarded this fund. Opportunity Award The Opportunity Award includes mentoring in the Action Research process (8 months-1 year) engaging in a community of practice. Though there may not be monetary support, those awarded Opportunity Award will be part of an Action Research community.
