This weekend, we would have hosted our annual A Briercrest Christmas festival. But the show must go on! Farewell, Briercrest Performing Arts! As I conclude a very eventful 2 years as Administrative Assistant I thought I would share some true behind-the-scenes photos! This is our 'heads will roll' wig room, our cheery music office, our rehearsal hall, instrument room, prop room, and costume room! And our beloved director and department Chair, Dr. Ron de Jager, displaying pretty much the same expression he had when I told him I was leaving:) BUT, join me in welcoming Grace Parkin to the stage ... um, I mean the office! As we reflect on today being our proposed Opening Night for Fiddler on the Roof 2020, we thought we'd share a memory from Summer Stage 2015. In these uncertain times, it's helpful to remember that the sun continues to rise and set, seasons continue to change, and God's faithfulness remains constant.

Briercrest Onstage presents 'Voices from the Front' each Remembrance Day, a poignant presentation of wartime poems, songs, and drama performed live and free of charge in honour of military heroes and those who loved them. As the world today engages in a battle against fear and loneliness, let 'The White Cliffs of Dover' inspire you to keep your hope alive.

A Briercrest Christmas is holding open dramatic auditions this Monday, September 16th! Children's audition slots (ages 8-14) occur between 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm and adults will be considered between 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, both in the Landing in Caronport. Join me in welcoming our new Performing Arts Faculty to the Briercrest stage! Justin Hauck has extensive experience as a drummer and percussionist, and has enjoyed touring, recording, and performing live around Western Canada and Germany. The sense of humour and positive attitude that he brings to his teaching is sure to make him a favourite with any child wanting to learn the drums! Emily Fell hails from Calgary, AB and has trained extensively in all styles of dance including ballet, pointe, tap, hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. She has previously taught at the Sole to Sole Dance Company and is quick to learn, create, and teach choreography in any dance style.
