Hi Folks A bit of an update for you. We are working diligently to complete our backlog of orders, some from 2019. We sincerely apologize for the late delivery. We have found alternate suppliers for etched metal parts and some key supplies, so we can move forward with completing orders quickly. For now, the health risk associated with occupying our manufacturing shop is extremely low, and shipping and production are resuming on Wednesday June 8. We have halted development on ...future projects temporarily to ensure expedience to complete each order on our books. Parts are in stock for all remaining N scale C636 and M636 orders. These will all be completed and shipped by June 15. We are now waiting for arrival of etched parts for all remaining N scale RS27 and RS36 orders. These etched parts are scheduled to arrive June 19, and these orders will be packed and shipped June 22. We are aiming to have all other orders for products communicated, completed, and shipped by June 22. Thank you again for your patience and support during these recently past rough times. We are looking forward to making many new products in the future.

This time is a difficult time for a lot of small business, and Briggs Models is also feeling the crunch from a shortage of materials and sub contracted parts. I want to take this time to reassure all customers that we will not be shutting our doors, and we will be shipping all orders we have on the books as soon as we can. Unfortunately, my manufacturing and development office is in a public building, and public access is not controlled. With physical distancing guidelines it... is difficult to access the property safely and regularly. I am seeing a high volume of emails, and if you have any concerns I will answer them as soon as I can, Monday through Friday. The orders most affected by these events are HO scale resin cast CC&F boxcar kits, HO scale welded gondola kits, N scale RS27 and RS36, and N scale GP20 ECO development. Any orders that have been received have been produced and the etched parts ordered, so these kits will be packed and shipped as soon as I can. Also compounding these problems, the etched metal provider in the UK that I use has temporarily shut down for health safety, and will not be able to provide etched parts for kits in the foreseeable future. I am working now to find alternative suppliers for the remainder of the N scale RS27/36 kits, as well as the production run of HO and N scale GP20 ECO units coming up soon. The GP20 ECO project will most likely be delayed until May, but I will post updates as they become available. Projects coming up, but without definite delivery dates, are N scale U18B, GP20ECO, Baldwin AS16, AS616, and DRS-4-4-1000 body kits, as well as HO scale GP20ECO body kits. For each of these projects, we will be producing a run of 50 units, then selling those units. Future product runs will depend on getting enough reservations to produce another run of the same size. In the past we have had a hard time ensuring expedient delivery of on demand manufactured kits, and we need to move to a model that does a better job at satisfying customers in a manner more in line with the goal of excellent customer service. For more information on these units, please contact: chrisd @ briggsmanufacturingassociates.com I have excellent records of the orders on the books, and I will be sending out these orders as I can safely access my office building. For any orders that are received from this date forward, I will be contacting customers , and asking them if they would like either an immediate refund or prefer to wait until their order can be produced. Check out the pre-production GP20ECO photo of the N scale printed parts that come in the kit...it's all I have to show you this week, but I hope to be able to provide more neat model kits in the near future! Chris and myself appreciate your patience, and we hope you are keeping yourself safe and healthy in these difficult times.
